Mini Cooper Subwoofer and Amp Enclosure

Category: Navigation & Audio
Price: $215
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (you may select multiples): R56
Location (Region): NorCal
Item Condition: Used

Want some BUMP in your TRUNK!

This set up will do just that. This whole set up will fit on your trunk of your Mini Cooper in a few minutes! This enclosure fits very snug so you will not need any type of sealant around the edges. This is how i ran it in mine and it sounded great!
It has a 10 Kicker Comp speaker and a Kicker 400W Amp.

You will need to run an Amp Wiring Kit back to it, which is not included as i am using that for my new car, but they are fairly cheap and can be bought at any Auto Parts store or Best Buy. Also a RCA/High-low converter line which you just splice into your existing speakers in the rear of the Mini, which will convert the speaker wire into RCA, which you can therefore connect to the sub. This cam out of a 2007 Mini Cooper S, but i would assume that it will fit any Mini Cooper??? But i am not certain on this.

$215 obo

I installed a high low converter by splicing it into both of the rear speakers which then allowed me to plug in the RCA's from the high low converter into the amp, and then ran speaker wire from the amp to the sub. Then i ran a fused line from the fuse block back to the amp for a remote turn on, and 2g fused wire for a main power right to the battery. Hope this helps?

This looks really cool. I have a 10" sub in my boot in a regular sub box, it takes up half the trunk. This is a much more elegant solution, and if I hadn't promised myself to stop buying toys for the car, I'd buy it. Good luck with the sale

The converter box can be picked up at Walmart for like 10-15 bucks. You could also get a remote line from the rear lighter (note the amp will be powered on for about ten minutes after you turn the car off). Make sure you find a good ground for the amp so you won't get any engine noise.

awesome setup, definitely saves that trunk space!

quick question did you use a piece of wood as the mounting board and wrapped it in fabric? .. also our trunk floor isn't deep did it fit level with the amp underneath or was it slightly uneven in the trunk?

I used MDF board, and covered it with runner carpet I got at OSH, and it all fit in flush and tight. There is enough room that it didn't hit the amp or subwoofer under it.
