Roof rack for 2 mountain bikes

Searched for Countryman roof rack systems, and found Thule aeroblades mounted on either Thule or the stock MINI towers. Anyone have any opinions before I order this setup? Are most using the fork attachment and taking off the front wheel ? Thanks again folks.

Hey pimpinon - The BMW/MINI rack products are made by Thule, so I don't think you'll find compatibility being an issue. The AeroBlades look like a great crossbar and I believe the "feet" will fit the Countryman roof rails just fine. I saw an example here:

Once you've decided on that, then the actual bike trays are a matter of choice. The Thule and Yakima products are good (have owned both in the past), but this time decided to try the Rockymounts "Euro" Pitchfork setup. Totally stealth mounting and in my opinion, the best, current fork mount. I'm super stoked about mine, though I'm sure you'd be happy with any name brand.

Here's a pic of my setup:

Thanks Bentyyc

I like the idea of being able to use the rack on another vehicle and so the Thule system fits my needs. The Mini is made by Thule so same thing got it. I like the his and hers Rocky Mountain bikes. My last bike was a Rocky, this time we got his and her Fujis. I will check out the Rocky cradle, I do prefer the fork mounts.

Thanks buddy

I don't have a CM, but I second the recommendation for the Rockymount Euro Pitchforks. I've got two on my R56 and love them. SO much less bulky-looking than the MINI-branded ones I've seen.

I have 2 Yakima Frontloaders with the Mini Rails.

Our "old CM"? Sounds like a story there...

LOL No real story except that when we bought it a year ago we also still had my 300+whp Subaru for fun and for winter. Well my husband loved my CM so much he ended up with an R56 so no more AWD or turbo fun car.

We went looking at cars b.c my mom was interested in buying my CM to replace her CR-V, well she decided to wait a bit, but we already found the perfect '12 All4 6MT and the price was right. Still miss my PR base, but I love having power again.
