Ultimate Fix-O-Flat Solution.. From Continental

I have the 12 V air pump with tire sealant available from Continental!

$75 for the kit!

This is the same Kit OE spec on the 05 Ford GT.

This kit features a water solubile tire sealant.

The recharge kit is $25, and includes a new air hose, and a new can of sealant. - this makes your kit good a new.

This kit is not yet on my cite, but I will post when its available.

Call me to order

Alex

How does this compare to tire slime?

Once installed into the tire, Slime remains liquid, evenly coating the inside. When a puncture occurs, the escaping air forces Slime into the hole where it creates a long-lasting, flexible plug. It's non-flammable, non-toxic and water soluble.

Am I reading it right? Does it inject the sealant while it's filling the tire? The kit that came with my Mazda RX-8 didn't work at all. It was similar to the Slime kit with a seperate bottle and pump.

This could be genuine progress. I know some people are very happy with their run flats (per NAM thread), but lighter and cheaper tires couldn't hurt. Thanks, Alex, for the post and information.

It sounds to me that the improvement over the slime treatment is that the stuff is water soluable, and that after using this stuff, one could actually probably clean out the tire, repair and reuse it.

Hence, I will take one when you have them Alex!

cheers,

Paul

That's what I would hope; that the tire can be patched and reused with no balance, etc. issues.

I love my runflats, but I guess I am a fickle guy!

If it rains inside your tire, you've got bigger problems than this Kit can fix!

It dries upon contact with air, hence the rush outwards thru the puncture.

This is a great solution! I purchased a plug kit and air compressor and this sounds way easier since it rushes to find the hole and fills it. I'll be calling you soon to order one.

How is it different from the kit that BMW sold/sells for the M Roadsters w/ no spare and no runflats?

Very similar, also used on 745LI with big wheel packages.

Alex,

Does this leave a bunch of goo inside the tire? When you get to a tire shop and they pull the tire off, what do they find? Is this a temporary fix to extend the run flat distance or is it a permanent patch?

Thanks.

Yes its a water soluble goo inside the tire. You dismount the tire and wash it out with water. A tire patch is the permanent repair that should be done from the inside of the tire to permanently solve the issue.
