Suspension Black rotors?

Black rotors?
just came across these on Alta's site. Does anyone have them? im just curious if the black actually holds up, or if it simply rubs off over time. these will go with my black and red theme very nicely.

Yes, the finish will disappear on the friction surface. It is just a black zinc coating similar to what EBC does on the domestic series of Sport rotors and on their Ultimax rotors. The hat and the edge of the rotor will stay coated though since the pad doesn't come in contact with them.
Those look great except that they appear to be cross drilled. Cracking around the drill holes? No thanks. Give me slotted or at the most dimpled every time.
That is a really bitching looking setup though

Well, they are Wilwoods so the chances of cracking are less than Ebay rotors but with such a design, the chance still exists. Here's another much less expensive option without going to a BBK:

The finish on the swept area (where the pad contacts the rotor) will last approximately ONE stop. Same with cad plating, the black phosphorus coating on our rotors, etc. As far as drilled rotors, well, we don't use them (or recommend them), regardless of whether they were drilled or cast (which there is a huge debate about, anyway). Solid or slotted rotors FTW! All we ever run on the track cars is solid rotors...
The black anodized hat will stay black until you put them through a bunch of heat cycles on the track - then they'll turn a pinkish-black.

This is now standard on all Wilwood SRP (combo drilled/slotted) rotors unless you specify (read pay more) for the standard zinc finish. The black is commonly called E-coat. This is an electro coating similar to powder coat but much thinner. (google it if you want all the specifics) It's done for two reasons; cost and enviromental issues.
