I'm considering lowering my R53- however I live in Ohio, and with living in Ohio comes snow. Unfortunately/fortunately this is my daily driver, so it does see snow.
So as not to become part of the Ohio Highway Department, what lowering height do you suggest to avoid plowing snow?
Any specific brand or are lowerings springs pretty universally the same?

Good to know! I'm thinking maybe like 1"-1.5"... just for driveability's sake. I work in Akron, and the driveway to the dealership already eats my car... so much more than an inch or so, and I'd be in trouble, I think.

You can solve the scraping on driveways issue by slightly trimming the hang-down lip under the car. It's a thin plastic that you can easily trim with an exacto blade.....and you wont have any scraping issues

MidniteCoop:
Hopefully you really don't live in the city or Brooklyn...thats going to hurt believe me! Places to reaaally avoid:
LIE, BQE, Delancey, West side highway, Meatpacking district, midtown, downtown....hmmmm anywhere in this city. My R53 is lowered as well and that doesn't feel great although my car looks really nice. I lowered the ride when I needed a car in LA. Kept it, brought it back to NYC and let me tell you...LA's highways are butter and nice (compared to the east coast). Especially around Pasadena!!
Anyways, ordered my JCW09 and I will learn to 'love the wheel gap"!!
Nice looking though.
