Re Ordered

Well I just re ordered my mini. My MA was not thrilled. He said to make sure I get it right, this time. He called the changes I had previously requested "mistakes". Also found out that if I do it again, my down payment will not be refundable. So I gather they frown on re ordering. In any case I spent more on the Anthracite headliner, DSC, and Xenons, (to help with having difficulty seeing well, on dark, rainy nights). Having started out wanting to keep things simple, I've evolved to wanting to be able to feel safe for city driving as well as adventures. I thought this would delay it's arrival time, maybe bump it to '08...but no. End of July, early August is still the due date. Hmmm make me wonder how it all works behind the scenes, in dealer world.

I also reordered but was not my fault. Wanted sirius and was waiting for a price and found out the window for adding options was not available. My MA was great and I could re-order, whatever made me happy. My new deliema is that the new specs haven't been officially ordered and I could keep the car that has been built and ready for transport. Apparently I can add sirius through the dealer so this might be a way to go. I just won't get the rear fogs and upgraded Hi Fi. My main concern is that in my head, the newer the build, the less issues I.E. upgrade fixes, etc. Or is this to soon and will not really happen until next year.

I reasearched changing the headliner, and it would have been a big deal. ($2000 at dealers, $600 or $700 at a shop). Then, while I was at it, added the things I was worried about not having.

Your MA has no business giving you a hard time about changing your order, especially when you are adding. If he is that put out by making a sale, you could "waste" another MA's (or dealer's) time.

Thank you, everyone! I wouldn't have been bold enough to reorder,(and to feel fine about it) if I had not been reading all of your posts! I also feel so-oo much more informed. I had never heard of run flats, xenons, LSD, etc. I've never looked at wheels before, and now I look at wheels. It is a little dangerous, watching for minis while I drive down the highway! This dealer was pretty much "no changes" right from the start. I assumed that it was because the production date was so soon, end of July, beginning of Aug. I was very surprised when I asked for a change (color change) that I was able to make it. I almost didn't, because of what I was told. And I certainly wouldn't have reordered if it hadn't been for you.
So, thank you !!

Agreed! Tell him one of the "mistakes" you made was ordering with him!
