Power folding mirrors?

I have a production number and am finalizing my specs. I'm wondering how useful power folding mirrors are. I thought they might be another gadget that will be expensive to repair if they stop working, but I notice many people have ordered them. Can anyone tell me about their experience with folding mirrors? If you had to do it over again would you buy them?

Thanks for sharing your opinion!

Mine fold manually, and have yet to fold them. I guess they might come in handy parking in tight places (how you get in and out, no idea).

I haven't received my Mini yet but I did order the power folding mirrors. It will make it easier to park in a tight garage. I wouldn't want to scratch up my new Mini or my wifes 05 MCSa (we both park in a two car garage and I was concerned about the space on the side). My thoughts were that if they ever stopped working outside of the warranty and they were too expensive to repair/replace I'd just use them as non-power folding mirrors.

Yes, this makes sense...although I like mine out as a first line of defense against getting too close to my MINI and brushing up against the paint!!! I do fold mine when I dry my car after a wash just to help water drain off. I understand in Japan fees are assessed based on car width when parked...those folding mirrors actually save the owners money!!!
