Newbee looking for advice

Guys,

Thinking about a mini (s). Could any of you that have (had) small children comment on how useful the back seat for is in the coupe and in the convertible.

My son is 10 months old and soon he is will start using front facing car seats when he turns to be a year old. I drop him off at the sitter every morning and my commute is only 4 miles.

I am hoping i would have no problem using the mini for 6-8 years with him in the back seat (preferably).

Any advice is welcome. If there are already posts on this subject, I would appreciate if you can direct me to them.

Well I don't have a kid, but I fit in the new 07MCS my family. They aren't small neither. They sit fine, kind of comfortably but they wouldn't mind going for a 2 hour ride sitting in the back. For a 10 month old and starting the front facing car seat I believe their won't be any problem. Just make him sit in the middle for easy access and also let him enjoy the big speedometer in the middle! Make him like your mini for he will buy one when he is of age!

Should be ok, I know of a family with young twins and they drive with a cabrio with the kids in the back and do OK. They are about 5 or 6 years old now and been driving the cabrio for 2 years.

When I got my MCS 4 years ago my son was 12 and his teenaged sisters fit in the rear seat for short trips up to 30 miles one way.

Welcome to NAM! I have 2 sons, one 10 and the other 5. The 5 YO still is in a carseat, and the 4 of us fit in there just fine.

I have 2 daughters who love to ride in the MINI. Ages 3 and 5. See this link for some comments from others with kids: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=99863

You can see the car seats in my gallery.

Thank you all very much.

Will there be any space for a stroller with one seat being occupied by the car seat. We have a light weight (9 lb) stroller (that can be collapsed to a manageable size) that we may want to carry on local city drives. I think I have seen picures of one seat folded down but would like to have the feed back of experienced users.

I have a 3 year old and he rides in a Britax Marathon seat (I think it's their largest) and there is plenty of room. He DOES kick the front seat until I tell him to stop though...;-) There is room for a passenger behind the driver's seat AND I can fold that half of the back seat down for golf clubs! Does it get any better???

Welcome!
We have an 06 MCS and a 4 year old and he fits fine with decent extra room. We actually find, now that he's forward facing, that it's easier to get him strapped into the seat in the MCS than in our 4 door Mazda Protege (you can get a better angle from in front of him rather than leaning over him to strap him in). With the other seat folded down, we've managed to carry a weeks worth of luggage (packing kinda lightly though) also!

Hi! I have a grandson aged 1 1/2 years and he sits in his front facing car seat in the back very comfortably. He can see out the front and side windows plus he loves the sunroof on a rainy day. The only trouble I have is squeezing myself into the back to put him in and to retrieve him. (bad back...unfortunately comes with age)

My son is now 3. He's been motoring in my MINI since he was 1month old. This is how his stroller fits in the boot. Granted only certain models will fit--3 years ago, I tested all the available ones at BabysRus.

He does love to kick my seat---I've been able to incline it away from him, but that won't last for long---I have to remind him not to kick the seat--and it's gotten down to--ok just be gentle...and he gently kicks it.

Thanks for those pictures. That is the exact model stroller that we have.
