I suggest looking into joining SCMM: the SoCal MINI Maniacs. We've got a bunch of members in your area, and in fact, we just had a great night last Saturday, watching the Transformers movie at Mission Tiki Drive-In in Montclaire - not too far from where you are. We also usually have a regional get-together in Claremont on the 2nd Sunday of each month at Heroe's, followed by a brisk drive up to Mt. Baldy, and out and back on Glendora Ridge Road.
