New to the group--full of thanks!
Hello everyone,
I've just placed my order (production week 30 or 31?) and the wait begins. I feel like a kid waiting for Santa!
I'd like to thank the community for the wealth of thoughtful observations, ideas, and insights in the forums that helped guide me through my initial design and ordering process. I'm sure I will end up with a Mini I love because of it.
To those of you who are still deciding upon your build, you might want to check out the Mini website for the UK, which I found allowed you to preview exterior/interior combinations better than the US one, with a broader range of virtual photos (you can see both interior and exterior color choices in the exterior shot, for example). The site is www.mini.co.uk
Incidentally, I am now living in London, soon to relocate to DC. I haven't been up to the Oxford plant, but I have test-driven Minis at the Park Lane, London dealership. And the streets here are just full of gorgeous classic and new Minis! But maybe I will take a reccie up to Oxford once mine goes into production, before we both begin our separate journeys to the States...

Congrats on your order
Welcome to NAM
Congrats on your move to the eastern shore of the US
I'm about 3 to 3 1/2 hours from the DC area. There are a few really nice Minis between our two areas. Since ordering mine I'm noticing 1 or 2 each time I take a drive for more than 15 minutes or so.
