I have to admit that I’m a little disappointed that the Freedom isn’t one of their red and white ships. I like that color combination better.

Freedom Underway

Just an FYI, Freedom is underway now and making her way down the Solent from Southampton and out into the English Channel. woot!

Cabbage ~ I think Freedom is owned by ARC instead of Willenius Wilhelmsen, so it has a dif color scheme sorry about that.

Alrighty! Freedom is rounding the Isle of Wight and heading into the English Channel at about 14 knots. Looks like we'll be chasing the Queen Mary II all the way to New York.

No more updates until Freedom starts reporting into sailwx...hopefully in the next day or two

Here's to New York on September 3rd!

WW actually has three lines, ARC being one of them, link below shows the lines. A Ship colors are green/white,red/white and blue/white. To make it more confusing they also have ships under a USA company.

*gasp* the dark and tangled web of global shipping conglomerates!

Anyway - the few pictures I saw of Freedom were blue and white. Unless thats just what they want me to think! (I am a touch colorblind)

Thanks for the info!

Chili~

Doesn't look like freedom has started reporting position yet (to sailwx anyway). I think they wait until they're quite a ways from port, not sure why, but you'll notice that coming into to europe, freedom stopped reporting just as she entered the area of the english channel.

Here's hoping that she starts reporting in the next day or two...

Tharkun ~ thanks again for the excellent info.

I'm glad that you guys are keeping track of this. It's easier than doing it myself. I still wish it was a red and white ship though.

Where do you see a bunch of MINIs at? I was hoping to be loaded on this ship, but my VIN does not bring up anything on the tracking site.

Once you have your VIN number show up on the WW site, it gives you a booking number for the ship you're traveling on. You can then enter in that booking number (on the same site but on a different page) and it will list all of the VIN numbers (for MINI's) that will also be aboard the ship. However, if your VIN isn't showing up on the Auto Cargo page, then it won't do you any good to look through the (long) list of VINs (as it won't be there).

Anyone here going to the VDC at Charleston SC? And is anyone making the trip from there to the Mini dealer in Missouri?

Tharkun ~ thanks again for the excellent info.

Your welcome, once at the canal, message me and I'll give you a few tricks of tracking thru the canal. But youhave someone that has done this a few times so you may not need my help.

Freeedom Checks in

All riiiiight~

Freedom has checked in with sailwx. Looks like she's about 200 miles southwest of Ireland...about.

Tharkun - my cruise actually ends in New York... Sure the east coast is overcrowded, over stressed and ridiculously expensive, but we get out mini's faster.

whats the closest VDC to the port? Or does it depend on where the car's final location is.

Anyone feel free to correct me, but I think there are two here on the east coast... Newark, NJ and Charleston, SC.

I would think that Lowell and Philadelphia (where I am) would both be getting off in New York to be processed in Newark.

Freedom Update

Looks like Freedom has graced us with a second position report for today.

I'd make it about 500-600 miles from Ireland... or, 200 miles strait west of this morning's report. Hopefully, my guesstimate isn't too bad.

Even though I'm only updating myself in this thread....

Freedom looks to be about 1000 miles from Newfoundland at last report. I'd say we're just over halfway there.
