Documentation and dealership charges
#26
miniphatty - Did you find out what the doc fee is for Rasmussen? Most doc fees are in the range of 400 - 600. You may find that you aren't going to save any money.
Just thought you might want to check, but I totally understand your decision based upon the MSRP+ at NVM.

Rasmussen charges 175$ over MSRP (excluding dealer accessories which obviously cost extra). From their own site:
Q. At what price are you selling the MINI?
A. Is the real question "are you jacking up the price because these babies are hard to come by?" No. It is Rasmussen's long- time policy to sell cars for no more than the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) at the time the customer takes delivery of the vehicle. Plus of course, any factory or dealer installed options or accessories and detailing. At Rasmussen each MINI gets floor mats, a detail, and a full tank of gas for which we charge $175.00. MSRP for the 2007 MINI Cooper is $18,700 and the 2007 MINI Cooper S is $21,850. The 2007 Cooper Covertible is $22,600 and the S Convertible is $26,050. MSRP includes shipping and handling.
Their title and registration processing fee is 20$ which is outside the 175$ and sounds totally reasonable to me (what other dealers charge 50-400$ and call it documentation fee).

The forum's dog ate my post - lemme try again:
That's what happens when the entire Bolivian army is shooting at you and after a 300 mile high speed chase, you drive into a dead end with one gallon of gas left in your mini
