R56 Production Week 40 Support Group!

If you're in production week 40 sign in and post your specs!

I just ordered mine from Ashley Vaughn of Crown MINI of Richmond on 9/18/07.

Specs:
MCS
CR/B
LSD
MFSW
Rooster red interior with piano black dash
Cloth Seats
Sunroof
Rear fogs

I've got some other goodies coming in from a different source: JCW aero kit, R99s in anthracite, checkered mirror caps, rearview mirror and door handles and the JCW floor mats.

I need help.

I'm in production week 40 as well. But since it's the production begins on week 40, does that mean I should be in the week 41 support group? It takes a week to finish production and the support groups are when the MINI is born right?

I ordered mine on 08/18 from Rasmussen MINI in Portland, been a long wait already!

My specs:
MCS with LiB/W
Premium/Cold pkg
Xenon/LSD/DSC
White Alloy 16" S-Winders
White Turn Signals/Rear Fog Lights
Interior Surface Brushed Alloy
Comfort Access

There are some that think the production week is determined by the week it finishes production, others feel it is the week it started production. So it is really your choice, so choose which ever week you like.

Woot I've got company then! Congrats on the order!

I judged my production week based on what my MA told me it was. I assume its the week you start production.

Week 40 is what the lady on the 866-ASK-MINI number told me. It would be so cool to get the car before Thanksgiving weekend.

Well his low estimate of 1 to 6 weeks is not accurate, forget anything less than 4 weeks. Minis are shipped to the west coast on WW ships 99% of the time. Voyage time from Southhampton to Port Hueneme (Oxnard, CA) on average is 21 days. Then time to pass thru the VDC, loaded on a transport truck, trucked to your dealer........use an average time of 7 - 10 days. So you can figure 4 weeks from Southampton to your dealer. Once at the dock wait times for a ship average from a few days to a week plus a few days, all depends on how lucky you are at arriving at the dock within a few days of a ship. So to be safe you may want to go with 5 to 6 weeks to be safe, and allow for delays any where along the trek to your dealer.

Excellent take on that line. I can't wait. I know I'm driving my girlfriend and brother nuts with this obsession, so I at least want the car to be here now.

I was interested in the MINI when it first returned in '02, but I couldn't buy one then. It came back in '06 when I could buy, but I decided to wait for the '07 features. Then, when '07 models were available, some of my desired features were delayed. More waiting. Then I had an "unexpected lull in employment", so more waiting. Everything's good now, so I ordered.

Amusingly, when I took my girlfriend to test drive with me on Saturday to make the final Cooper vs. S decision (which wasn't much of a decision, although I desparately wanted/want Nightfire Red), her attitude leading up to that was "just buy the car already." After five minutes in the Cooper, her frustration became enthusiasm. "You have to buy this car!"

We waited for the S test car to return. During the wait, she said the Cooper was fine. Once the S arrived, we drove off. I'd driven about 50 yards when she said "turn around, we don't need to drive any more. Get the S." Sold.

My dealer (in Virginia) said mid-November, but I'm hoping for early November. (I wouldn't be offended by a late October delivery.)

Thanks! My husband thinks I have a MINI obsession. I'm hoping it will die down once the car gets here!

There are meds for that. Oh wait...

I have a random question. There are a ton of posts where people are talking about the 08 MCS and the addendum of the "auto-up windows" and USB port. I ordered a 2007--is that what I will be getting? When do the 2008's actually start? Will we have the USB port? I suppose I could just 'wait and see,' but where's the fun in that?
