All Aboard the Manon

I guess I should post the car has been loaded onto Manon this morning and is heading to its final destination of PORT HUENEME, CA. I wonder how long it will take to get over here to the San Diego dealer. It all depends on the Panama Canal right?

I know people are always saying how long it takes...but for some reason time is flying! I'd give an estimate from now...right before November comes around. A safe estimate.

Oh man...

You can check the schedule for the Manon the WW site, but it is scheduled to arrive at Port Hueneme on 10/15. Then the time to pass thru the VDC, and transport time to your dealer.

It's not just the Panama Canal, there are also the pirates to contend with, sea monsters, and the Sargasso Sea. Lots can happen on the way across the pond. Are you following the Manon via the various tracking methods? There are a number of threads that would tell you how.

My MCS was done with assembly on 9/18. Checked out the WW website a few days later, and entered my VIN in the cargo tracking link. Sure enough, it's on the Manon as I expected. 866-ask-mini status is 'awaiting a shipping vessel' but the below WW cargo tracking link shows my VIN was loaded onto the Manon on the 25th.

Here's a few links I've been using to track:

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...html?call=SIWN
http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do

Cheers!
Jeff

ok, I'm a little confused. I've been tracking the Manon for the last week (it only took 7 days to cross the Atlantic, yay). I am wondering why the ship headed right for the coast of Maine...if its final destination is Port Hueneme?

Is this normal, is this unusual? I know it is supposed to take about 3 weeks or so to get to the destination, just confused why the ship did not head straight for the canal first.

Can anyone shed some light?

According to the WW site (cargo tracking, look at the voyage ED738-MAN), the stops are Halifax NS Canada, then Panama Canal, then the West Coast port. The ship has _probably_ already left the Halifax port and is on it's way South to the Canal, although the sailwx.info site states that the Manon's last known position is 2 days old.

Don't sweat it. You'll be motoring soon enough ...

Looks like the Manon is docking today!!

http://www.portofhueneme.org/documen...1011160358.pdf

Hopefully this means that our MINIs will be trickling out to the dealerships in a very short amount of time. I'm still optomistic that I will be able to take posession by the end of the month.

Has anyone had a status update of their passenger aboard the Manon?

UPDATE

Current location of the Manon.

AIS is usually about an hour lagged, so Manon should be arriving at the port soon.

PH

This is a pic of Port Hueneme and it has two docks for RO/RO ships. When the pic was taken just happened to be two WW ships moored. There is no live cam at the port, but once
Manon departs, the WW site will update her schedule and this port will then appear in "red".

If you do not have any dealer options to be installed at the VDC, and considering your location....... your Mini "should" arrive at your dealer in a week or less.

What options are installed at the VDC? Are there options that are put on at the dealer? For example I am getting the illuminated sills and the ipod interface. I would assume these are installed at the VDC and I will have to wait longer. I guess its worth the wait.

Im still guessin Nov 1 as the date I can pick it up... we'll see how close that estimate is.

The schedule on the WW site for Manon has not changed to "red" so most likely Manon has not departed the port. Once she does the schedule will show
that by changing to red text. The booking info on the WW site can take a few hours to update and shoo all Minis as discharged.
The OL site could take days to update as well.
