Another, picking up my MINI this Saturday!

Hi all!
This is my first thread here; I subscribed months ago to learn a little about the Mini to help me made a purchase decision.

Caution: I´m from Mexico and my primary language is spanish, so I´m sure I´ll have some (or a lot ) grammar errors here and there.

A little bit of history:
As said I was unsure of which car should I buy, I started with a long list:
VW GTI
Mitsubishi Eclipse GT
Mini Cooper S
Ford Focus ST (not sold in USA)

The "finalists" were Mini and Focus ST, I love the way the Mini drives, but I was not so sure because the reduced interior space and almost lack of trunk space.

Last weekend I made a decision for the ST (I´m sorry!), and I went to give a deposit to pick it up this week. But the car I was going to buy had an accident and I was never told, I figured it out because they left to many clues. The car was not clean and my seller told me it was being "detailed for delivery" the prior week. Also it had masking tape here and there, on the left side panel, it hadn´t the headlight washer cover, and it had paint in the left mirror assembly! The seller give me some lame excuses for it, but for me is clear it was painted for some reason. (It was in display the week before it went "missing" and was ok, pics:

Also when I was next to it although I like it I didn´t feel as excited as I felt when I saw the Mini. Both reasons made me change my mind. The ford seller called me on Monday morning telling me that if I didn´t feel comfortable with that car they could order another one from Ford, but I said no thanks and went that afternoon to give a deposit for the Mini that I´m going to pick up this Saturday.

Mini Cooper S Hot Chili Sparkling Silver 2007
"MSRP" $30890.00 USD but I had a 3k discount because it was a demo and has 1200 miles on it. I was tempted to buy a new Chili (not hot chili) that retails $30290.00, but it didn´t have some options that otherwise would cost me more than 3k.

The configuration options aren´t the same here, but I´ll put what the "Hot Chili" package includes:

EXTERIOR COLOR - SPARKLING SILVER
INTERIOR COLOR - PUNCH CARBON BLACK LEATHER
6-SPEED GETRAG MANUAL
SPORT SUSPENSION
DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL (DSC)
MULT-FUNC STR WHL/CRUISE CNTL
WHITE BONNET STRIPES
CHROME LINE INTERIOR
CHROME LINE EXTERIOR
WHITE ROOF
CHROMED EXTERIOR MIRROR
DUAL PANE PANORAMIC PWR SUNROOF
COLOR LINE DARK GREY
PIANO BLACK INTERIOR TRIM
PARK DISTANCE CONTROL - REAR
RAIN-SENSING WINDSHIELD WIPERS -inc: auto headlights
XENON HEADLIGHTS -inc: pwr washers
AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONING -inc: active carbon particle filter
ON-BOARD COMP
REAR FOG LAMP
HI-FI SOUND SYSTEM
CENTER ARM REST
BLUETOOTH MOBILE PHONE PREPARATION
ALARM SYSTEM
PERFORMANCE TIRES
17" FLAME SPOKE WHEELS

Hola.

Welcome to NAM. Your English is just fine.

Thank goodness you discovered the problems with the Ford before you took it home. I'm sure you will be very happy with your Mini. Congratulations on your new purchase and feel free to join in on more discussions. We're happy to have you in the family.

Be careful wiht the Punch Leather interior..it is soooo much softer then the other leathers and will start to become wavy wihtin a week of sitting on it..I got it on mine and have been terribly upsetand dissapointed....don't let the dealer try and tell you this is normal..the leather should not look like it has been sat in for a year after 1 week..let meknow how you make out... sorry for the bad news

Thank you all
As soon as I have it in my house I will take some more photos and upload them here.

I´m thinking about changing the wheels for the R108 Multispoke, does anyone have them?
