Right now, I'm not going to assume the worst.
From being involved with tracking Minis since June, I have never heard of the 4 week "quality control", I would guess you had someone that was confused.

Mostly my engineering background and a penchant for expecting the worst (while hoping for the best!).

Now my days will consist of me entering my VIN into this page.

Ahh you suuuckkk..

Just called...my car is in the paint shop...still stuck on Nov 3 for completion.
Took down the VIN number again and she said after Nov 3 a couple of days to port of exit. So I can almost guess what ship it might get on for the east coast...hmmmm maybe before November ends

Cutting it pretty tight...it all depends on how efficient they are at the port after the cars are built.

Hey it could be worse. You could still be waiting for your vehicle to go into production. Called today and spoke with Kristin, who was very nice. (Wish someone different would answer the phone. Everytime I call she answers. She must think I'm crazy calling once a day to check the status.) My car is still set for production in week 45......must be the last car in week 45. Still doesn't have a VIN. It's getting harder and harder to wait by the day. Oh well......

Today's call yielded this info: "it's in production, will be finished next week". To the question when will it leave the port, he said "two weeks, plus or minus".

Does anyone know what "plus or minus" means?

As for calling MINI, I'm up to once a day. They know that we are all neurotic about our wheels or we'd never be a part of this hulaballoo

There seems to be a variation in the quality of information between operators at the other end of the phone. Certainly not getting the manufacturing code / process numbers that Coop310 posted here on 10/29. Data, someone give me data (or an in-factory webcam).

Seems like week 45 is a big production. Are we looking at 3 weeks of orders for week 45 production???

It's possible my MA was overly optimistic.

Thank god!! Just got a call from Kristin at ASKMINI (who I could kiss right now.) She gave me my VIN number. My car is scheduled to be finished 11/9. Better late then never, I guess.

Called ASK-MINI today and went through the automated system: Car's in the body shop with an estimated completion date of 11/3. Then I went and talked to Adam on the Customer Relations line. Car's in the body shop and should be completed in "one to two weeks." WTF? The wide-range of dates given to us makes the visibility of the process pretty worthless. Until I confirm my VIN's on a boat headed to CA, it's pretty nebulous as to where I stand. (I'm okay with that, but wanted to document the range of dates that you can get here for other expecting owners so their frustrations don't seem so personal.)

What I did get confirmed is that my car is a week 45 build. So that's something.

Yes I get the same thing...the only consistent thing I am getting though is Nov 3 completion date...so I'm sticking with that. I figure I can care less about the details of the process in between because it is always something different.

The only wacky response I got so far was the 4 weeks of quality control after the build.

That took me for a loop.

That's *definitely* been the source of information with the least amount of variance. It's said 11/3 all along (although today's was the first time that message specifically referred to my car being in the body shop). I've used the automated line three times now: 10/30, 10/31, and 11/2 and got the same answer each time. I talked to humans on 10/31 and 11/2 and was told: 11/4 and "one to two more weeks."
