MY/B MCS with auto trans (whimpy I know), yellow color line, piano black, DCS, Xenon, Cold Pack, Premium pack, MFSW, rear fogs, 16" wheels with performance runflats (ordered a set of winters/wheels from tirerack.com), leatherette, white turn signals, black bonnet stripes, anth headliner.

I drive 120 miles per day, so I can't wait to get behind the wheel.

larrydata, i ordered more or less the same car except I got the MT with LSD, no Xenons (I know prolly should have), no AH (didn't think it'd go well with MY), standard checkered color line, all season 16" runflats, and regular turn signals. From the outside, it'll be difficult to tell our cars apart.

Can you tell me why you got the Xenons?

Let us know how many days from when the Freedom lands until you get to pick up your ride. That should give me an idea of when I will be able to get mine from princeton mini too. My MA is Kyle. I'm not financing.

kllm, are you leasing or just paying cash? if you're leasing, can you pm me the details of the lease? I felt like the lease rates sucked.

I spend so much time driving, and during winter I'm driving to work in the dark and home again in the dark...sometimes 3 hours a day behind the wheel. I just wanted to have the best visibility I could.

I added front fogs for the same reason. And rear fogs so other cars would see me ahead of them.

My first mod will be a brake pulser to make the other cars see me better when I have to slow down on the highway:

Russr, you talked about leasing or paying cash... I am still wondering what kind of terms on the financing. I like the Mini Select but a 53% bubble payment at the end seems a bit stiff. What are you guys doing?

I had to go with the Auto, too, for the wife. I read in another thread that you can still 'change gears' which is slick. No clutch, tho, which is a drag. I know it may be wimpy but I don't want to race and sometimes driving a stick is a pain.

Don't you have any after market options, russr? What a drag to start the process over. You're much more patient than I am.

I too, tho, drive almost entirely in the city so don't care much about xenons. My morning commute is 8 miles all city driving. I don't need the extra light but I'm not in the forrest.

Yeah, I don't live in a major city like NYC, so there are lots of instances where I am on roads that extra light could help.

I think the aftermarket options are too much money for xenons and they won't be the same.

As of right now, I'm going to do financing at 6.1% through Costco for 60 months.

Do you have to be a Costco member for Costco financing?

thanks, tried there already. Capital one has 6.35% for 60 months and 5.99 for 36 months. I'm not interested in 36 months as the payments are too high.

Capital One gave me a HORRIBLE rate, if I remember right it was in the teens. The best I've gotten so far was Bank of America although there was some confusion there. Online they said 7.03% and then when they called I think the chick said something like 6.24%, I'm going to have to reapply no matter what closer to delivery as it was out of the 30 day window so we'll see what numbers I get next time round. I'm hoping Mini will try to beat the rates I found. Fingers crossed...

MINI Financial won't beat your rates, but your MINI dealer might as they have partnerships with several financial institutions. For $55, I'd become a costco member and get the 6.1% rate. You'll more than make that up over the life of the loan.

Here's a link to the Costco rates:

I had looked at the sam's club rates and they just send you to E-Loan which had been insane when I went to them independently. Don't know if I want the Costco membership. The .2% might not be worth it. Oh well, It can't hurt to at least check it out...

Have you tried a Credit Union?

My local credit union gave me 5.99%, then my Mini dealer went through a local bank to get me 5.29. I'm hoping that with the quarter-point drop by the Fed that I might be able to get it lower still.

New Car & Motorcycle Loans
Loan APR% as low as Max term Max Amount
New Auto, 36 Month 4.99% 36 Months $50,000
New Auto, 48 Month 5.49% 48 Months $50,000
New Auto, 60 Month 5.99% 60 Months $50,000
New Auto, 72 Month 6.49% 72 Months $50,000

Anyway, check out a local credit union and maybe you can do better? They're often nicer too.

Larry

I had thought about that but the only one around here requires you to join and open an account. I already have a ton of accounts and don't need yet another one just to see what the rate is. I saw somewhere, someone had their mini dealer beat the rate they had with one from a credit union and they paid the membership fee. I'm hoping for that. I'm not having to borrow a whole lot so the different percentage rates really aren't that critical to me. I punched in the numbers to their calculator and if i went up a whole percentage point, I think my monthly payment was only going up by like $5 and I'm looking at 10ths of a point so it's really a non-issue. still I love a sale so this is like finding the best sale in town to me.
