My understanding is that you basically finance 47% of your car over 2-4 years. The final 53% balloon payment is paid at the end. I don't think that a trade-in has anything to do with it as I am not trading in a car.

I'm in Western MA. My credit union is http://www.franklinfirst.org/, but I think that you have to live here to use them. I'm sure you must have a similar credit union near you.

I went with 60 months(evn though it says 6.35 on the site) and applied and got a rate of 6%. Not sure if that is because I financed my previous vehicle with them.

A lot of it depends on when you apply...rate fluctuate as the overnight lending rate set by the FED changes.

My vin doesn't show anything on WW site ...so I believe I'm on the Western Highway that is steaming down the English Channel right now headed for Charleston! Anybody else aboard?
My credit union where I work is at 4.5% for new cars.I'm paying cash.

acebutt, if your VIN doesn't show up on the WW site you are not on any of the WW ships. What does OL and ASK-MINI say?

OL & askmini are slow updating in my experience. Askmini has no more info yet. Last time I went through this I was on K line, which includes Western Highway. Patriot is on the dock now ,I hope we're already on West. Hi. 'cause it goes directly to Charleston on Dec. 23. Patriot doesn't get to Charleston til Dec. 29.:impatient

When did you complete production? Usually if it's more than a week at the docs and still nothing showing up on WW site, it seems like it is more than likely on the K-Line. What did you order this time? I notice a MY in your sig, I ordered a MY/B. How you like the color living with it daily?

Finished production ,askmini said dec 6 my MA said dec 7
Going with Laser Blue this time. Mellow Yellow is real nice, bright color that looks good on a Mini, love it. Get alot of positive comments. That's my daughter's car actually.I thought about getting another MY(can't have 2 of same color, according to wife & daughter) or BRG(maybe too dark )??
Daughter wanted to replace her '96 Civic. Was considering Honda Fit. I said screw that... let's get a MINI !! Of course that's what we did. Now I don't get to drive her Mini much so...I thought I needed my own.
So anyway, yes I believe Mellow Yellow is a great choice

Laser Blue for the runner up color for me. Ultimately, I chose the MY because it isn't as common as La Blue.

Yo mave, Faust just seems to be hanging out near Nova Scotia according to sailwx. You seein' the same? Wonder if that 12/16 reschedule was due to a busy port. Either way, I can't wait much longer ...

I saw it in the Halifax port earlier today on aislive and then it left after a while. Also 2wglobal has updated the schedule of faust. It is expected in NY on the 16th. Damn it. You are right. The wait is killing. Its like we are almost there but not. Anyway do you have any idea how long it takes to leave the nj VDC?

realblanka, sailwx is not accurate for tracking ships close to port. it is a weather reporting service that ships participate in and they don't report unless they are far out at sea. the reason for this is that we know what conditions are like close to land.

Anybody who's on a boat, should be everyone in this group by now:

Does Owner's Lounge show you 'en route to VDC' or still 'awaiting transport'?

My OL status changed to "En Route" just yesterday (Dec. 13), despite the fact that my mini was on a boat that left Dec. 8...

No idea how long it takes to clear the vdc. I vaguely recall my MA saying "anything from a day to a week".

Mine also says "En route to vdc" however it says that when your ship is crossing the atlantic, not after it hits the port.

My car finished production on the 2nd and arrived at Southampton on the 4th. It just began registering as en route two days ago, so I'm assuming it is on a K-Line vessel. I'm still a little puzzled about something. My MA is telling me he has an ETA of the 20th, but I can't seem to figure out which K-Line vessel it could possibly be on with that kind of arrival date, and I'm completely sure that he's saying ETA at the dealership and not at the eastern port. Is there anyone else with a similar ETA? On which vessel are you traveling? Thanks.

Hey fellow week 49ers, I'm thinking of reordering because I did not get the Xenon lights and I now realize I should've. My car will hit the NYC port next Tuesday. Any opinions?

My Mini wasn't showing as "En Route" until about 5 days after it had been loaded onto a ship and sent out to sea, so chances are yours has been on a ship much longer than the OL would have you believe.

I think faust has approached NY earlier today. But it is probably waiting its turn at the port. It is scheduled for 5:00 pm tomorrow according to firstnynj.

Land Ho! Man, I hope the storm isn't as bad as they predict else our rides are in for a rude awakening.
