My new to me 2006 MCS!!!

Well, last Friday I became a MINI owner! It was actually a bit sooner than expected, so here's the story. I had a 2007 MCS on order when I came across an incredible deal on a VERY lightly used 2006 MCS. The car only had 2200 miles on it when I took the test drive. There wasn't a single mark, scratch, or spec of dust on the car!

It has every option that I would have ordered except LSD. Since this will be a commuter car for >90% of it's life, I'll get over it. I wouldn't have LSD on the 2007 I ordered either since it was an automatic. That was the original deal with the wife, we agreed that I would get the automatic so she could drive too. She agreed to let me get this car with the 6 speed because of the HUGE savings. The best part, she's finally agreed to learn!

This thing is a blast to drive. The handling is addictive, it has good power, and the transmission is so smooth. I love the whine of the supercharger! I've always been partial to superchargers over turbos - this is supercharged car number 4 for me but the others were V8s. The whine isn't quite as loud as my Lightning was, but I'm sure I can fix that!!!

I'm kicking around a few names for the car, but right now it's Bogey. We'll see if that sticks. I figure being that it's green and I love to golf it fits. I've never named a car before, but it seems that most MINIs have names...

Anyway, the part I'm sure you've been waiting for... pictures!

There's many more pics in my Picasa gallery, follow the link in my signature.

One more thing, that evil four letter word... mods! Yes, they will be come soon enough. I already had a 3M clear bra installed. I love that the R53 has a single din stereo so that'll be replaced soon. As for performance, I need to decide if I want to try some autocross or road racing. I live about 10 minutes from Road Atlanta, so I might end up there a few times.

On the cosmetic side, I think this is the look I'm gonna go for. Thanks to MSFITOY for letting me borrow his wheels for the day (at least digitally!). Team Dynamics wheels and little black out:

I love black wheels on MINIs, but I wasn't sure it would work with the siver roof. I did a little Photoshop to see, and I like it. What do you think?!?

Thanks!

Congrats on the new addition. Looks great. How good of a deal was it if you dont mind sharing? Personally I like the silver better than the black. But of course, that is one of the things that makes MINI ownership so fun, the variety of ways to add mods. Cheers and .

Well done. But don't stop with the belt line. Chrome is the enemy. Show him no mercy!

Welcome to NAM and grats on the new car. I like black wheels with polished lip just so it breaks up the wheel and tire.

Very nice MINI. You did very well. I love the silver roof & swoosh stripe on the BRG.

As far as the back wheels go. I don't think they look good with the silver roof. They just get lost in the dark part of the car. Maybe if they had polished lips they would stand out a bit more.

Enjoy your new ride.

He has photo-shopped those wheels on there. What you see are front brakes on both ends. That's why the rear calipers are in the wrong position.

Yep! Though I'm sure 4 piston StopTech's on all four corners would really scrub some speed in a hurry...
