Hi Holly.
You really can't put much stock in what you see on the Owner's Lounge or the information you get from 1-866-ASK-MINI.
The Owner' Lounge still shows our car as "Scheduled For Production" even though it is finished! We found out by calling ASK-MINI that it went into production on the 30th of January. Every call after that (OK, there were many) said that it was in the paint shop. Today (the 4th) they told me that it was finished yesterday.
So, find out when your car went into production. Add 5 days and that is when it should be finished.
Good luck!
Larry

I ordered on January 31st, and apparently my dealer was able to reconfigure a car he already had as part of his allocation. Got a VIN number 3 days later (this past Saturday) and ASKMINI says its in production and scheduled to be complete on February 7th. They tell me that this is week 6 of production for 2008. That's awful fast, and actually a little faster than I want as my old lease does not expire until middle of April. Does anyone know how long the car might sit waiting for a boat, how long the boat trip is to NY, and how long at the port in NY before getting to the dealer?

and to prove i'm not a patient person: 8 days to cross the pond.
the boheme departs 2/6/08, the integrity 2/9/08, and the elektra 2/12/08. the boheme is probably not gonna happen for me. let's hope we cabrio's make the integrity!

Count me in too Cabrios! My dealer also reconfigured a car already scheduled for production. I called today and after speaking to the MINI automaton I held for a real person who told me production began 01/31, entered body shop 02/04, scheduled for completion 02/06. Order date was 01/24 and first estimated completion date had been 02/07. So it seems to be moving along nicely. Wahoo!

Found out today that my car has been at Southampton, UK since the 1st. Today (4th) it cleared outgoing customs--a step in the process I didn't know about.
Having cleared customs means it can be "released" for shipping and will soon be manifested on a boat. The only way to know about this status is to call your MA, so far as I can tell. It occurs before your VIN shows up on the WWL or K-Lines web sites.
MA says 12-14 days to cross the ocean and travel to Nashville.

Asian Emperor !
Well it looks like we lucked out.
Wanda began production last Wednesday the 30th. She was completed on Sunday the 3rd and arrived at the port today - Tuesday the 5th.
According to the W&W Cargo Status, she will be leaving today on the Asian Emperor, arriving at Port Hueneme (Oxnard, CA) on February 25! We thought we would have to wait another week just to get her shipped.
Things seem to be moving quickly for us!

My Mini made it to port on Feb 3rd and was initially scheduled on the AIDA in the WW site. A few hours later, it changed to the Asian Emperor. I'm figuring that until it says loaded (or whatever term they use that indicates its actually onboard) all bets are off. Good luck--maybe we'll be on the same ship!

Asian Emperor has sailed!
The Asian Emperor sailed at 2:00pm (PST) this afternoon!
According to the W&W website she sailed yesterday, but who cares - she's on the way. She is scheduled to arrive in Manzanillo Panama on Sunday the 17th.
(Sorry Jeremy! Maybe they just didn't update your information and you are actually onboard?)

You may have seen this before, but it is a nice summary of how to track.

Although we were not wait-listed for the Asian Emperor, our car did not make it onboard. She is sitting in Southampton waiting for the next departure - the Turandot on Monday the 11th.
Here is the current location of the Turandot: http://www.shipais.com/showship.php?...mmsi=265287000
Her international call sign is: SGBA
Arrival is scheduled in Port Hueneme (Oxnard) on March 2.
Yet another week of emotional ups and downs!
