The more I think about it, the more I want the JCW Tuning kit. Since it's just an intake, exhaust, and ECU...it shouldn't be a hard DIY install, right? I mean, pay $2100 +install or pay $1700 for the kit at Morrison Mini (NJ) and install it myself? I sure I'm competent enough to install it myself. What could go wrong with the install?
I say just get the Cooper S and hold off on the JCW package. I think you'll be VERY satified with the power of the bone stock MCS.
BTW: interesting thread title
I'm actually thinking about buying a motorcycle and saving up for the August release of the JCW. If the motorcycle doesn't get me killed, I should be a happy JCW MCS owner... We'll see... :P
My unsolicited advice: Buy a MCS, I've driven an Xa and like the car. However, there's no comparison either in cool or fun. The Mini option list is expensive. Get sport suspension, limited slip, and HID lights. Stay with "16 wheels. A JCW steering wheel and shifter are both highly recommended though $$. Plan to ditch the run-flats well before they're worn. They ride like crap. I'm confident you get option out a wonderful Mini for less than $28k.
