Negotiating New MINI?

Hello all, I am getting ready to order my first Mini Cooper. Test drove an 'S' this past weekend and I was instantly sold. So, I was wondering if anyone has had any luck negotiating with Mini. I have been reading various forums online and it sounds like they do not negotiate much, if any, below MSRP. If anyone has been able to negotiate final sale price and has any advice for me it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much.

Ask the dealer comp the installation on your accessories. That worked for me.

Generally, no, you won't be able to get below MSRP. Some people have gotten a lot of luck getting carpets for free, but beyond that, don't set yourself up for disappointment by expecting invoice - especially on a car that is basically custom ordered.

(Sure, there are off-the-lots, which do, in many cases, go for a deal, and if you can find your dream car on a lot, more power to ya!)

Consider yourself VERY lucky if you can get anything below MSRP. There have been a few successful posts from some MINI peeps. Some dealers will throw in some free goodies like floor mats. It doesn't hurt to ask!

I was able to get floor mats and a CF hood scoop. Not much, but it's better than nothing!

I get a free can of Diet Coke every time I go to my dealer, sometimes I take two! Oh, and the last time I was there, I got a free bag of cheez-its!
