Hello... and meet Ambrosia!!
After much lurking and procrastinating I've finally gotten around to introducing myself and Ambrosia to NAM
Ambrosia is a 2007 SS MCS and I 'adopted' her off the lot from Mini of Towson. Brought her home on Jan 31st and had her stripes and driving lamps installed a week later (more stuff to come of course).
I am enjoying every minute of driving her...even if too much of it is in crappy DC Metro area traffic and the break-in period is rough!
She replaces my beloved Mazda3 hatchback (which met her untimely demise in the side of a Dodge Caravan that cut me off...RIP) and there was much thought and debate over whether I should custom order or not. In the end it all worked out and I'm quite happy with her. Sparkling Silver wasn't my first choice in color (not at all actually) but seeing it in person made a huge difference. The color has really grown on me thus far!
I really can't thank my boyfriend enough for introducing me to these fun, unique little cars! I was also looking at the Volvo C30 and GTI but once I got behind the wheel of a Cooper S I was sold. You couldn't wipe that grin off my face!
And from everything I've read on here so far, you couldn't ask for a better community of fellow Mini lovers!
Maddie
P.S. Her name comes from the ambrosia dessert. I was eating it one night while still deep in thought about which Mini to buy. I thought it sounded like a unique name for the car and sounded almost sort of British!

Welcome to NAM from central Ga. You have a great looking MINI and the name fits it well. I don't know how you people in DC manage the traffic with out going mad. The last time I was near DC was in an 18 wheeler and it still scares me to think about it. That was 20 years ago and I'm sure it hasn't gotten any better.

thanks much everyone for the warm welcome
This car (and her color) just keep growing on me...and she is a cutie Though I do have some ideas in mind about how I want her to look. First things first...tint the windows, get a clear bra (the paint is way too soft ) and then change the wheels (I'm thinking possibly gunmetal colored wheels but I'm hoping that is not 'too much').
now I just have to wait for that tax return!

I will say, having a car you enjoy makes the commute a little more tolerable. And when it is zippy and nimble, it's easier to maneuver yourself in congestion.
