New soon-to-be owner here! I ordered my dream car yesterday afternoon:

2008 Mini Cooper S in Chili Red with Black roof and bonnet stripes
6-speed
Sports Package
Premium Package
Rooster accents
Xenon headlights

I'm so excited, I don't know how the heck I'm going to wait 8-10 weeks! I'm currently driving a Scion xB, so it's going to be a big change.
I have driven turbo cars before, so I'm VERY excited and looking forward to doing some tuning/tweaking.

Congrats on the color scheme, it's the same one I picked for my MC that I ordered last week. Who knows maybe they will be bunk mates on the ship

 

It's odd because when Liz ordered Butterbean in 2006 (06 CR/B MCa) the dealer mentioned that it was a rare combination because most people got the white roof with their CR.

Maybe it's just the real trendy MINI owners who get CR/B

 

My dealer said the same thing when I got my CR/B and he must have been right, because mine was the only CR/B that they got in for almost 5 months! I don't know, I just love the way the whole car is black and red...makes it look kinda mean

How did you like your xB? I think the old model is a great car, but I was sad to see that they put a thirstier engine in the 2008. My sister and brother-in-law have one. Tons of leg room in the back seat!

Who knows, jjr_sf, our cars could very well "know" each other, LOL. Very cool! It's going to end up a NorCal car.

I had been lusting over the minis for years, but was stuck on a color scheme until about a year ago. I saw a cr/b mini s motoring along the highway, and just fell in love. They do have a meaner look to them that really stands out.

I really liked the beebox while I had it. (Bright yellow, special release 2.0!)
It was a major change from what I had owned before, which were mainly Acura Integras. I went from a turbocharged integra GS-R to a 100 HP box on wheels, but it was still fun to drive and got a lot of looks. There wasn't a whole lot of camaraderie with Integra owners so it was a neat feeling when other Scion owners waved at me. Do the Mini folks wave at each other?

I actually like the new xB's, and it's neat that they put a bigger engine in...but I think it takes away from what they stood for. Hard to explain.

 

Congratulations ! Still waiting to receive mine, the most fun car to drive I have ever seen.
