Born to be Wild is the song for me. The lyrics are perfect!
Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space
I'm calling my MA first thing this a.m. Hopefully I'll get mine this Saturday!

Hey gang, my sister just sent me this website of "road" songs. Great list anywhere from Aerosmith to Cat Stevens. Here's the site:

I already bought some bling for my baby. I also got a t-shirt from Cafe Press. They have some cute shirts and things for Mini lovers. You should check it out. I got the Lightning Blue R56 Owners Club t-shirt and a mouse pad too. They had one with the black roof - just like mine.
I'm hoping my checkerboard mirror covers come in tomorrow so I don't have to go back and get those put on. They're putting the checkerboard graphics on my sunroof tomorrow.
This is fun, fun, fun!!!!

How's your baby?
There's this thing I've heard of called sleep...
anyone here familiar with the concept <g>?
Hope I'm awake enough to drive home from Cincy this afternoon.
Should be heading out to my dealer sometime around 7:00 or so
this morning. I've got a small backpack full of electronics and
music, several checks, and I'm good to go.
One way to kill time while you wait for the good word from your
MA would be to prep your music selection for the drive home.
I'm still trying to decide on my main "it's mine, and I'm on the road"
song. Probably something by Springsteen, Tears for Fears, or maybe
some good old fashioned "New Wave" from the '80s <g>.
So many choices , and only one "first" song <g>.

I have achieved MINI <G>
After an adventurous day driving around (and Around) Cincinnati, I and
my MINI are home .
Managed to keep the fenders and quarterpanels unscathed.. but not due
to lack of trying. One near miss, totally my fault <G>. Reminder, be aware
of all vehicles around you, not just the other MINI's <G>.
Very happy to have it. Tried to use my Garmin GPS to navigate home,
and it must have known it was in a MINI... it made sure I took the
longcuts, and made a point to search out the curvy, wet roads <g>.
Will post a pic or so in a bit. Must go eat something.
Special thanks must go out to Brian (BcSki) for running me over to pick
it up , leaving his house at around 5am or so to make the trip. He'll not
be home for another couple hours... but wanted and needed to thank him
again as soon as I could.
To the folks still waiting... it's worth it. Now if I can just have a sunny day
so that I can get out and wash it <g>..
I'm a happy camper.

What song did you play as your "first song"?

ain't nothing wrong with the 80's!
I still haven't figured out what to play for my first drive... too many choices i keep adding more and more music to my iPhone, what will probably end up happening is that i am going to forget and just drive home oblivious to everything 'cause i'm driving my new MINI

My Clubman arrived at the dealer early this afternoon and I will pick it up tomorrow!
I like the song talk, but I'm like Joe in that I love to hear the car so normally driver around for a while before I even turn on the radio. It will be Friday so Born to Run will be the song I do play when I turn it on. I grew up in Ohio and WMMS always played a series of songs at 5 pm each Friday to signal the weekend and Born to Run led it off.

when i was at my mini dealer they had 4 or 5 clubmans parked right in front. wow! some of them looked really really sharp, especially with the two tone roof and the back tail part in a contrasting color. I was lucky to see them in the 2 whole minutes of sunlight we have had here in chicago in the last week! The sparkling silver with black was gorgeous.
The weird part was it looked like a regular mini from one angle but then as you walked around it it just seemed to go on an on and on... like a stretch mini! Didn't see any hot chocolate mini's yet... owners probably picked them up within minutes of there arrival

Well.... got my MINI yesterday <g>...
and today I got to start learning the little things that make it special <G>.
Like when you look down at your drivers side floormat , and see your "dummy" pedal
just laying in the middle of it.. Fortunately, it just snapped back into place .
Then you take your wife for a ride... She belts herself in. 5 Minutes later , the dinging
noise reminding her to put it on stops ringing <g>. You laugh, and say , could be worse,
it could be a faulty tire senor constantly lighting up and staying on, even though
you've checked the pressure a half dozen times <g>.
Oops, forgot , that's happening too <g>.
Oh, and it's STILL raining. Isn't there a law that it can only rain 8 hours during
each 24 hour period after you bring home your new MINI?
But these are all minor problems. Still love the thing... and really am looking
forward to Sunday. Rumor has it we may even have some SUN!!!
