The port in Oxnard is full of cars right now, so the delay of 3 days is for the purpose of leaving room for the additional MINIs and BMW that are coming in.....
Damn!!!!!!! Oh well, the price we pay for wanting something that is in high demand. Guess I'll be making a few more trips by the dealer to drool. Hopefully we'll be rollin' by the end of April though.
The average elapsed time for the trip from the Pacific anchorage at the canal to Port Hueneme is 175 hours. Speed is approximately 17kts. Then, if your MINI just requires routine proccessing it will take about 10 days to get to your dealer. If your MINI requires more than routine processing, it will be a longer wait.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but now the WW site is saying the 21st! Bah!
As of today, The site still has the 20th listed as arrival date into Port Hueneme and the 21st as the departure date to Tacoma, WA. I say we go with that.
It's arrival of the 21st now and departure to WA on the 22nd. :(
I'm thinking that the 20 is a Sunday and they probably don't work on Sundays so that is why our cars won't be offloaded until Monday 21st. Yeah it sux but look at it this way, only one week to go. Hopefully they'll have those docks clear and our cars can go right to the VDC and be processed. I'm remaining optimistic and thinking that most of us should have cars arriving at the dealers by the end of next week. Supposedly the VDC processes some 600 cars per day.
Hang in there gang. We're all in the same boat Pun intended.
This for damn sure doesn't make any sense now . It doesn't take 13 days to get from Panama to So Cal, the weather can't be an issue and my whole no docking or unloading cars on Sunday theory is shot to hell. There has to be a reason but we'll probably never find out. I'm starting to get mad too. Going by the dealer and looking at the cars on the lot is getting old too and it makes me want mine more.

I feel you RussKeys...it's annoying to wait this long
My car is on the MB as well, ordered on Feb 22... and as luck would have it, I'm going to be away on business travel from April 21st to May 5!
But the kicker is that out of all places in the world, I will be about 10 miles away from Southampton!! I'll be in Hursley to be precise, a tiny little town that houses the IBM development site in the UK
So regardless of all these delays, I will most likely be away when my MC gets to my dealer.
On the upside, I plan to make it to the shipping yard in Southampton and see if I can spot any minis out on the yard.
Just maybe these boats are slotted to come into port like planes are when they land. Just maybe there is no room for the cargo untill that date. Just maybe a month form arriving at Southhampton to getting to Oxnard is just too long. Just maybe the Madame B. is.....LOST AT SEA!
The Port Hueneme vessel schedule has the MB arriving on 4/17 with 405 MINIs and 821 BMWs. It is 7 days from the canal to Port Hueneme. Didn't the MB pass through the canal on 4/10?

Voyage details for that ship on the WW site show:
MANZANILLOPANAMA09/04/2008
PORT HUENEME, CA U.S.A. 22/04/2008
I'd like to think the PH schedule is more accurate but ... I'm not getting my hopes up.
