Fireball Week 16
Ordered Fireball on week 15 and got in just under the gun for my dealers production run for a Chili Red MCS. Checking the owners lounge today and it looks like FB is awaiting transport -- this is working pretty smooth so far, and way to cool. Just hangin' in there waiting for the real wait now I suppose!

I don't want to start a rumor flying around about an production shutdown. I don't have the inside information, I was just relaying what my dealer told me. He did point out that there was a two week gap in the middle of his allocation sheet. By the time it gets figured out it will be over.
I was just curious if they were making some changes in the middle of the production run. It could just be the Queens birthday or something, too.

Web site lagging
Wow, the web site does lag! ASKMINI told me last Friday my car was in the paint shop. Then I checked the web site and it said "sheduled for production"; it has said that every day until today, when it finally moved on to "Awaiting Transport". So today I called again and was told that my mini had finished production, had been shipped to the port and was awaiting loading on the ship; and apparently that's all they can tell me: they told me to contact my MA for any further info, that they no longer have any updates once it gets to the port.
I checked the WW site and the VIN was not recognized so I'm waiting for that to happen - apparently it can take a day. Still, this is much sooner than I originally expected. Anyone know how long it takes a ship to get to the west coast?
Woo-hoo, this is great news. I can't wait!

Ok fellow west-coasters:
I don't know what ship I'm on (My MA hasn't returned my call), but I did find this site, which is the "Shipping Movements" activity at the Southampton port in the UK, which is the place from which our ships sail (I think).
It has, in the departures section, ships with departures from 18/04/08 (today) to 21/04 (monday). (obviously those dates are in UK format).
I also went to the Port Hueneme web site to look at their calendar; they have a calendar called "vessel schedule", although it does not indicate, for a given ship, whether it is arrival or departure. However, some of the ships are listed on multiple consecutive days, so I'm thinking that perhaps when a ship is listed on the calendar, it means the ship is in port that day; This calendar, by the way, is from April 20 to May 17.
So I tried to cross-reference, that is, to see if any of the ships on one of the calendars appears on the other - and I didn't see any. I don't know how long the voyage is from UK to CA, and it's a shame that the southhampton calendar is only four days worth of ships, but I plan to keep looking at these to see if I find any cross references. Maybe in this way I can find a ship leaving from Southhampton that is bound for Port Hueneme.
At any rate, the Southhampton listing does list one ship with a destination of New York, and it is listed as being type "Vehicle (MVE)". So maybe this is cars bound for the US. It is a WW ship, by the way: the INTEGRITY. So east coasters, you may be in luck!
If anyone has any better ideas on how to track my baby, I'm all ears!

I hope this helps *somebody*.

Ok, at Port Hueneme site, I found this page:
http://www.portofhueneme.org/busines...l_schedule.php
which is an easier way to find the link to the schedule. Also, that page says that the schedule ("shed-yule" in uk accent) is updated daily.

sfomini seems to be on the money. good work. find out our ship name and you get a bag of reeses pieces. and so everyone knows, i'll be reposting an updated list depending on arrival of new information. i wanna keep the Week 16 kids updated better than the other threads i've seen. if i had admin/mod powers, i would be able to make it better.

on monday, call customer relations (hopefully you'll get 'Dan', because he's a swell dude) and find out for sure so i can figure out where you are on the list.

Yep, my VIN is listed as having a seat on the Integrity. Shed-yuled (practicing that accent) for arrival in New York City on 4/28. Time to start learning about ship tracking. I just found the Integrity on google earth using this tool: http://www.vesseltracker.com/en/Googleearth.html
Tracking stuff is fun, but I'd rather be driving the Clubman.
