Actually I've wondered about that - how is "Week 16" actually defined? Is it "orders placed in April?

Weel 16 (in our case) is the week your car went into production based on the dealers run sheet....

not sure if I'm week 16 or not - I never asked my MA - just assuming that I was based on what I've read on here. ordered on 04/05/08 and built 2 weeks later.

Guess I did not explain that very well after looking at it.... Your dealer is allotted so many cars per production week, so many MC's, MCS's and Clubbies. And as I understand by color as well, but that may not be as true. Anyway, they must order these vehicles regardless of whether you/I are the buyer or the dealer puts them on the lot -- obviously the best plan for them is to have a buyer (like me who just happened into the office one day, wanted a red one, and they were required by thier run sheet to order a red one for production during week 16).

Starting with Jan 1, count each week (Sunday through Saturday, I believe)be sure that if the last day of the month falls in the middle of a week you do not count the first few days of the next month as a new week... ie March 31 was on a Monday, but that week ended on Saturday April 5 as week 14.

Anyway, week 16 began with April 13 and ran through Saturday April 19.... I'm pretty sure...

And viola.....production week 16....

Well, there really are only two choices.... If you are in week 16 production, then welcome to the forum.....

If you are not in week 16 production, then welcome to the forum.... It just doesn't matter does it..... But really, call your MA and ask, they will know for sure -- then you can get as nutty as the rest of us waiting for your ship to come in..... pun intended!!!!

It might be a bit longer than that. I didn't get off the boat until Monday morning according to the WW site, so I'm thinking Saturday at the earliest. I think next week is more likely.

I'm torn since I'm still working on selling my Truck (Little help? http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/m...657096977.html) but I really want my MINI.

Blackjack is aboard the Integrity! He is supposedly making his way to the Baltimore port before making his final destination in Charleston on Saturday! Hopefully it is still on schedule. My MA says Blackjack will be off loaded and put on rails to goto the VDC and then possibly making it to Nashville on the 9th or 10th plus one day dealer prep so looks like I will be taking a personal day on Monday the 12th!

You may wish to consider also posting on cars.com and vehix.com. Perhaps autotrader.com. Don't skimp on advertising - and detail your truck up to the 9s! Take many more detailed photos. And post them on a web page somewhere w/ a link from your ads.

Craigslist is a fine place to post if you want to move your car fast for less than market value. But, your listing will also only really be seen by few people - it's not well-designed to be seen by a broad geographic area.

Hurry Up and Wait ...

Wish that I had better news - or at least news that we could really count on. Here is what I do have, but don't bank on it - it's veracity shouldn't be carved in stone. Our cars *should* be at the applicable VDC by now.

Apparently, a VDC happens to be some 5-6 miles from Princeton MINI. The dealer believes that Sat isn't all that likely for me to take delivery and that Monday is more feasible - BUT - he's waiting just like us. It seems that they aren't telling him much more right now either, and it's the old "hurry up and wait" game.

Here is an interesting website
(http://www.port-of-charleston.com/vessel_schedule.asp) to checkout if you are looking for a ship that will off load in Charleston SC. If you navigate it a bit like I did you can find out all kinds of information. I found out that the Western Highway is listed as currently docked -- but was not supposed to arrive at 4:10 a.m. today and start off loading at 7:00 a.m. this morning. I work just a few miles from the Union Pier where the WH is supposed to be parked right now, so I may just take a quick ride over to check it out.... Can't get onto the actual terminal, but I can get close enough to get a look at what is tied up out there -- could get out on the Cooper River with the neighbor's boat and really check it out, but that is going a bit over the top!

Anyway, I looked at a couple of other ship's of interest and their arrival info on this website: Integrity arrives 5/3/2008, and Independence II arrives 5/12/2008 just in case anyone is interested.

The BMW Distro Center is up in Spartanburg SC which is about a 2 or 3 hour drive from the piers here in Charleston depending on the driver (sometimes quicker with some of these crazy SOB's from the terminals). My MA tells me just 1 - 2 days tops for handling there and then trucked out to the dealers -- Charleston dealers tend to get their cars overnight -- bonus huh?

Anyway, just a bit more useless info and knowledge to drive us all nuts while waiting..........

Thanks for the link to the Port of Charleston Vessel Report! It looks like the cargo ship (the Western Highway) my Clubman S was transported on is on the dock unloading

getting close...I think

Tracked the Elektra across the Atlantic until it was off Sable Island (of "A Perfect Storm" fame !!) a couple of hundred miles from Halifax. Last sailwx.info position report was at 00:00 hrs on 4/30. The Wallenhius Wilhmsen site showed the Elektra docked in Halifax yesterday and left later in the day.

Next port of call (and where I get off) is NY. Its due in tomorrow but I havent been able to find hide nor hair of it.

Are there any sites that show the comings and goings of ships in NY/Newark?

Turandot news:

Sailwx is showing the Turandot a bit west of Spain/Portugal. Looking at the map it looks to be maybe 1/5 the way across the ocean.
Go to: http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shiplocations.phtml

and then type in the name of the ship.

Looking good

SFO..i think if you click on Steaming79's link where it says 'ABOARD TURANDOT', it gives you the same thing showing the progress of the ship. Anyways, its pretty much the same thing but just another way to track it. KEEP CHUGGIN' TURANDOT!!

Bet if you look for a ports directory for the area you will find something that will give you a great deal of info....I found one for Charleston that listed the time of arrival and the time of beginning of off load.... MINIUSA still shows Fireball enroute to the distribution center....but I know that all the cars from the Western Highway were off loaded by 3 pm and were probably at the distribution center some time yesterday afternoon (Spartanburg SC) -- I live in the Charleston area, so I drove down by the pier of arrival at Charleston....

Good luck and happy hunting
