Break-in period... is done

My MCS .... now I have 1270 miles. The break-in period is finally done while I was driving back to home from cabazon premium outlet today. We took CA-241 from I-91 (it's first time to take that road) and wow CA-241 is pretty high, it's more like driving up all the way to mountain... the engine was so powerful even I turned the AC on, I could not notice loose engine power or not.

After I got back home, I worry about the engine... should I turn the AC off driving up to mountain highway (like CA-241)?

By the way, I drove sport button enabled.... it's sooooooo awesome!!!! I really like it.

Spam,

For as short as that toll road is, and since you have the manual 6-speed, I would think its no big deal....although I have always turned off my air on hot up-hills anyway, especially if you see the temp gauge moving up.

My MCS Clubman is still 3 weeks away so I am not talking from MINI experience yet....

BTW, with the millage you must be getting with your MCS, and the little extra time the 241 would get you, why would you use the toll road on a Saturday anyway? I live in Tustin, the 241 going right by my house, and I would always use the 55 instead.....

Maybe its just a toll road thing....

tigermann, I was going to use the 55 yesterday even I live in Irvine (because it is toll road), but at that point some reasons the traffic was so bad, so when I saw the toll road I just took the CA-241. Yeah I usually turned off the AC on up high hills other cars (my previous car nad wife's car), but I could not think about it because the engine had enough power.....:-) Hope the engine will be OK......

NashvilleMiniStan, yeah....I really like my MINI every minute.
