I purchased my first mini cooper...2006Mini Cooper S...it has 70,000 miles on it...are these high mileage cars? How many miles between oil changes? I am really excited...this is my first midlife toy...my husband has had many midlife toys and it is my turn...I hope I made the right choice...it hasn't been delivered yet.

Congratulations! I'm sure you'll enjoy your MINI tremendously. If your car made it to 70K miles in such a short time, it must be pretty tough. So I would expect that if you baby it you should be fine.

As for the oil change question, your best bet would be to search for some of the different threads that are already on the site on the subject. However, other than being sure to use synthetic oil, I've noticed that the answers on how often can tend to be all over the map.

I don't know about oil changes and all of that, but I'm in the same boat with you and the mid-life toy (although I don't like to call myself middle-aged!). DH has had 4 motorcycles and I told him I wanted a fun car to drive in (and I even found one that the kids could fit in, right?).

So he surprised me with ordering it for my Christmas present!

When will you get your new baby? What color and options...all that good stuff!

Hello! Congratulations! I've heard that you can go 15,000 miles between oil changes...

What's your MINIs name?

Welcome, if the previous owner change the oil recently then you should be good for 5K miles. If you are not sure go ahead and change it.

Thanks for the advice...what is the highest mileage anyone has heard of on a mini cooper s? I am not sure when it will be delivered...it was sent to a dealer in another state to be totally overhauld...the dealership I bought it from is extreemly reliable and well thought of here so I feel sure they are taking care of things. Waiting is the hard part
