Hi,I'm new to the forum. Very informative. I just bought a 2002 Mini with 31000 miles.about a minute after I shut the car off, I hear the steering pump turn on by itself. If I turn the key on for a second, then turn it off, the pump stops. I can't figure it out. Has anyone else had this problem, and possibly a solution?

 

Welcome to NAM. This particular folder tends to be more for those who've just ordered or just bought new MINIs. But the old timers come visit with us occasionally. I suggest that you look over in the 1st generation>stock problems folder. As a 2002, yours would fall in the first gen group. I did a quick look and found this:
