Woo Hoo! He's HERE!! FINALLY!!
We went on vacation to Manhattan - saw ONE MINI there; a Sparkling Silver one, parked on the street on the edge of Soho & Greenwich Village. We then were more anxious than ever to get our car...
We got home this week and found out that he had been on the Sierra Nevada Highway, was way-laid in Charleston for a while but he got to the Cincinnati dealer in time for us to pick him up today. I'm so excited I can't stand it!! We've been calling him Mr. Sparkle; turns out now that he is comfortable with us being his parents, he prefers to be called "Newton" - John Cooper's middle name.
He's a Sparkling Silver Clubbie with a black roof, black bonnet stripes and checkered mirrors - we couldn't be more proud!!

Tomorrow?
OL changed overnight for me. It now says a delivery date of tomorrow.
Tomorrow? Has the OL been accurate for you guys? Should I be girding my lions for a run to the dealership? Or does the dealership need time to get their act together. The only dealer option I have is the checkerboard roof which should just take hours to apply.

Waldo was in the same boat at your car. He will be in St Louis TODAY!!! He had no options that had to be installed at the VDC so he flew right out of there. Today the OL is JUST now saying "at distribution center" so if yours also states that, I would havta believe it's on the way and very near Chi-town!

My MINI is here!
My MA called yesterday morning and told me I'd be driving my MINI that afternoon/evening! We got to Flow at 3pm and left at 6pm. That was the most fun ever spent at a car dealership! Here's a pic:
I love the Sparkling Silver! It looks totally different in different lighting. This pic was taken this morning in the sunshine and it looks 'sparkly'. Yesterday evening it was rather overcast and the color seemed more tan with a greenish hue. I know that sounds yucky but it really wasn't. Most of the 60 mile drive home was in a torrential downpour and the handling was superb even in those conditions. I would have pulled off to the side of the road if I had been in my Jeep! The auto windshield wipers worked great too.
I think I'm gonna have lots of errands to run today!

Don't you wonder how many of our cars were sitting side by side on the ship or parked bonnet to boot at the VDC together waiting to be inspected?

MINI has done an excellent job of building the brand by creating an environment where their customers feel so connected to the product that during the production/distribution stage their customers create social networks to monitor their cars production/transport, commiserate like expecting parents, and congratulate one another when the product is delivered. Harley Davidson doesn’t even do that. This is a phenomenon as evidenced by me even writing this drivel.
