Here's an update on my Clubman.
Brought him in this morning for the installation of the proper color arm rest, driver's floor mat velcro, and the tow plug cover. I also brought up a slight defect in one of the sport stripes on the hood (which were installed at the VDC). All I had to do was mention it, and my MA walked me over to the service department and arranged for them to float a new one on the hood while I waited. Very nice and very good service!
The reasons I brought the stripe up with the dealer is that I have finally decided to go with the clear bra for the bonnet, bumper, mirrors and lights. The local outfit here in Annapolis, FrontGuard, is going to do it Thursday after work. They have good reviews here on NAM. I kept telling myself that this is not a Ferrari and I shouldn't pay the big bucks for the clear bra, but the thought of a rock chip in the hood was killing me!
Now, I just have to get the car through to Thursday evening without getting a hit!
I can't believe how much fun this car is!

I just can't seem to keep up with you guys these days. Posting put the wazoo. Anyway, badge looks good, if I have time tonight I may give it a shot also.
To answer an earlier question about the hill assist... I don't like it because I have been trained to drive a manual gear box to quite a high standard, and the brakes staying engaged even for that split second is throwing me off. I am adjusting for it now, but I still don't like it.
On another note, I got an email telling me about a survey I should take about my service experience yesterday. Since it could have been much better in my opinion it is going to be fun.

This is so painful watching you all taken possession of your babies. Ironically, I hit dry land before most you (in Halifax), but the train journey across Canada sets me back a while. Quite the epic journey for my car: a ship ride across the Atlantic, a train ride across North America and then a covered truck to my dealer!
But congrats all so far and I hope to be joining you soon enough.
And a huge round of applause to OWG for keeping us all sorted out!

You know, you really need to arrange at least a few miles as air cargo to round out the whole "all the modes of transportation" thing.
Almost a full month on a train. Gee could it be more painful?

We have the lounge leather with tan trim on the interior, which matches very well with the car. My wife drove it today, and she put on a black shirt with a pepper white trim (which matched her sandals)... she didn't realize she was matching her car.. until I told her :-)

Factory JCWs Held until July 14th at VDC
I just got off the phone with my MA. She'd just got off the phone with the BMW district manager. The official word is NO 2009 JCWs will be released from the VDC until July 14th.... contrary to the intel we received earlier -- that cars would be released 7/7. A couple other cars that arrived on the Westenr Highway are at my dealer now. This inhales deeply
