Congratulations, Euseys!
You have just given me something to add to the list of things I must do before I die: Take delivery of a new car in Italy and then get to drive it all over the place! Especially a MINI!

And here's a picture of the infamous USB/Ipod adapter. But you already know what it looks like! Don't feel too bad, though. A lot of dealers over here have been taking them out of the cars and making the customer buy it at the time of delivery. I made sure I got mine at delivery (gratis) but my MA said the reason they remove them from the cars is that "people steal them". I guess so at a hundred bucks a pop!

Congrats Euseys! Love the blue/black color combo. Lucky you to be driving all over Italy ... Take that baby up Mt. Vesuvius if you can! We just got back from a vacation in Naples ... it was awesome!

I was there last year. 5 days in Naples. 7 days in Rome. Loved both cities. Given the loud but friendly vibe in Naples, I came to the conclusion that Naples is like the New York City of Italy while Rome is more like Washington DC. Great time in both places!

Congrats to all the new parents, especially the LiB parents. You picked the fastest color.

--
On a side note, i got my first tank of gas today, and I hand calculated 22.4mpg ( 70% hwy), computer showed 23.9 not much better there, and i'm getting worse mpg than my modded Acura.

Anyways, I think the dealer put in 89 (gracious forbid 87 ), cause after about a mile, Yuko felt COMPLETELY different off the line. At first, i though i accidently hit the sport button, but no it was off. I'm pretty steady with throttle control and i noticed that she seems to be turning lower rpms now. I'll test this more when i head to work tomorrow. I hope this next tank will improve a little, or maybe i just need to slow down.

KRIM "Congrats to all the new parents, especially the LiB parents. You picked the fastest color. "

oh and by the way, the speed light is faster than the speed of electricity electricity. A laser is a concentraded beam of light and lightning is electricity. There for, Lightning Blue is not the "fastest color" ..... Laser Blue is.

I WIN :-)

First half tank, we got 19.4 - 100% city - only 128 miles but yikes!

I reject your physics, but that is irrelevant because your laser -might- be faster but it is wildly predictable. Us Lightning Blues will just sneak up on you and cook you without any warning. So you can have your faster, I'll stick with my more dangerous.

Spoke with MA today and the little Oxy Blue beauty will be ready to be picked up tomorrow at 3 pm. We'll be taking in our trade, so hope all goes well with that. It's a 2001 BMW 330i loaded, with only 18,500 miles on it. ;P

By this time tomorrow we should be off motoring!

Besides, lasers are nothing with out electricity. without lightning aka electricity, lasers go no where. Therefore, not only is LiB the fastest color, they make the world go round.

And for what it's worth, my car was full up when I picked it up..

Like DChap, I sucked it up and paid for the damn cable - they are NOT included in Canada . My MA looked almost embarrassed when he came back with the cable and said: "It's...uh...105 dollars." I just didn't want to have to admit here that I paid for it.

And congratulations on MYSTIQUE!! 0.1 miles on the odometer...amazing!

Hi all....

This comes from Electronics Technician First Class, Surface Warfare qualified, Petty Officer Matthew A. Eusey, of Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Capodichino, Italy:

I, ET1 (SW) Matthew A. Eusey officially declare Lightning is better/cooler/more dangerous/kills more people per annum/and is what all the cool kids are doing this year.

I have thirteen years of hands on experience and state of the art education on the topic. So, nah-nah Lighting, in my professional opinion is the only way to go.
Don't mess with Mother Nature!

hahahahahahaha
You guys rock

Will email my guy at aesthetic creations for a WEEK 23 badge update. More later today on it. He might have emailed my government email, which I cannot check at home.

Completely off topic:

Can someone confirm which "R" we are? Is the 2008 Mini Cooper S an "R56"?

When I got to work today, someone approached me that I don't really know and was asking details about my MINI. He gave me an enthusiastic "Congratulations!!" twice!

On another note, anyone else getting "How much do they cost?" as one of the first questions from passerby? Seems like that's what most people are interested in, that and the MPG.

One more thing, I went to court to fight my speeding ticket yesterday, was changed from 2 pts/$120 to 0 points/$200. Pulling out of the law square thing I had my first MINI wave/wave.

Been MIA for a while. Out motoring! First Congrats to all you 23 ers who have been awarded your wings.

We just got back from a 4 day trip to upstate NY. Went though Canada from Michigan. We got more inquiries from folks in Canada who wanted to know our mpg and costs than we could count.

Up state New York was awesome for driving. Tons of great hills and winding roads. We tried to be good and not exceed the break in limits. My dear hubby (DH) couldn't help himself, he did exceed speed at least once!

We hit 1200 miles and the sport button was DOWN!! These babies are fabulous! Fortunately, neither one of us met any of the nice NY law enforcement officers (except at our picnic/reunion). The amazing thing was that we fit three suitcases, a cooler and a dog carry bag in the boot. It was tight, but exerything fit and worked. Puppy rode like a princess in the back seat!

I went and ordered my new plates and "MAGGY 2" will soon be riding high and wide.

Love, love, love this MINI. Can't say enough good things about it and walk around grinning. This morning was in the garage with SLICK easing off the bugs doting the bonnet and cleaning the windows before I came to work. DH says I have officially crossed the line and refers to me as OCMD (obsessive compulsive MINI disorder) ! Hey, Maggy feels bad when she isn't a sunny smiley MY!

MiniMama- glad you are having such a great time in your MAGGY 2! Wow you put some miles on quick! I just hit 1000 on the way to work today so my fingers are itching to push the "sport" button It's like putting a big red button in front of a 4 year old and saying "Don't touch this....."
