Hey mnimule, how do you know your MCS is on the Patriot? My MCS was also completed on June 6 but Ask Mini only says that it is ”waiting to be released to the carrier”. I assume that means it is somewhere sitting in a big parking lot waiting to either be sent to the port or is waiting at the port waiting for W&W to scan the VIN and get it in their system.

 

On mine, I'm calling the production start as "conception", and the completion date as the "born" date. (I think there was another thread debating this!). I think in that thread that the date that MINI uses as the official "birthday" is the completion date.

My MINI was born on 6/3 and it never made the Patriot!!

But now i'm being told it could be on a "K-Line" ship!!! So i'm just taking faith it is on another smarter ship.

I just called AskMINI and the automated line says it is being transported! I know it has been posted oodles of times but we now have 38 pages in this thread- can someone please post the link again to type your vin in and find which ship you are on/scheduled for???? THANK YOU!!!!

i made it to Chicago finally, yesterday was just a wrong day.... recap...

102 degree weather, 2 hour delay, after boarding there was another 2.5 hour delay on the plane (sweatbox). After getting into Chi. we found the L (train) took it to the city, but yeah half way there it broke down and we had to sit in the middle of the line for 20 mins..... OMG i don't think i will come to Chicago again haha.


Enough of my complaining, nice to see things are rolling along and our cars are heading to our driveways.

 

With a scheduled completion date of 6/10 and a departing ship on 6/13, do you guys think that I would make that ship?

 

Well, the OL says awaiting transport, and still no luck by entering my VIN on the WW site, so at this point I am just going to accept the fact that I'm on a K-Line vessel and will just have to wait this thing out.

I don't know if I can take it - just sitting here with nothing to track!

 

Three days is possible, but I believe in Murphy. Additionally it is a K-line ship with it's attendant data blackout.

Greg, the Asian hasn't arrived yet, and it's a W&W ship. I'm guessing that will be the one. It holds 6200 cars...

Hey, if you're bored, use the satellite view of Google maps, enter any address around the port (or England), move over to the west side of Southampton, and look at the thousands of cars and containers awaiting shipment.

Cant your MA tell you the name of the ship you are on regardless if it is K-line or WW?

that's good news, I'm sure I'll be getting on the asian chorus, so hearing that it hasn't arrived yet would make sense, since I've been at the port for 4 days with no updates..

I checked out the port, and found where all of the mini's are stored! that was fun.

search: "Test Road Southampton, Hampshire, UK" in google maps. Look at the parking lots to the right of the road, hard to miss the small cars, giant sunroofs and bonnet stripes...

edit: if you enable pictures, someone took a picture of the parking garge full of minis and range rovers!
