Wow- that REALLY bites about the MINI factory... I am so out of the "news" loop as I tend to purposly avoid it.
Guess I hadn't given too much thought about loading the semi-truck up with Mini's but I also can't imagine them waiting around for other ships. My GUESS would be the drivers fill up with the cars for their specific route and drop them off as they go- i.e: pick up in New York, drop a couple in PA, OH then MI.

Question of the day and just another thing help grow the Week 23 thread:
Once you clear inspection at the VDC what happens if there's only a couple of Mini's that are going to your specific city? Since the Mini's come into the VDC grouped by ship, is there a chance they would wait to transport your car to your dealership only when the truck gets a full load? Would you have to then wait for the next ship to drop off more Mini's that are going to your city so that the car carrier gets full? Maybe it's not a problem because we here on the forum only see a small portion of the cars that come into the VDC and that they never have a issue with getting full loads on the car carriers. Or, maybe they don't wait for full loads and they just send what they have available at the time. Hmmm....

I vote OWG as well..

I am so jealous of all you folks that has a proactive MA. I have sent a couple prodding emails to my MA about status and he never responds. Hopefully once it gets to the VDC he will step it up, but I doubt it.

Proactive? I ordered back in mid April and have never gotten any proactive communications from anyone at the dealer. Last time I called them they said that Wellington was in production and they'd let me knwo when they had an update - at the time he was actually sitting on the dock, and he's currently approaching Puerto Rico on the Rigoletto...

Well, if your Mini is hung up, I apologize. Mine is sitting awaiting transport, hopefully on the Western Highway, and will be delivered to KC area as well. If you end up waiting, it may be for my Mini to finish the truckload.

I am now really confused. I called my MA today to have him see if he could find out the shipping info. He said that their are two conflicting pieces of information about my Mini in the system. One of them says that it was completed on the 11th and is waiting at port for a ship. The other one says that it was supposed to go into production on the 11th but that it has yet to do so. He said he does not know which one is correct. The MA said that he could not figure out what the correct info is about my car. He said you don't really know anything till it gets to SC. He said it could take another month or more to arrive.

My MY/W MCS was at the docks on 6/6/08 following her birth on 6/2. The nice guy at ASKMINI told me she was awaiting her ship. I have put the vin # in about 27,000 times, but she doesn't show up on any of those ships. The OL shows that she is en route. The only non WW ship sailing is the SN. My MA couldn't tell me anything, so am I going to Charleston do you think? Miss Maggy says she feels like a mint julep before she heads home????

Tidbit- I called my MA today to ask him for a more specific date of when the car will be ready for pick up since it is now on the A.C. and he says that he doesn't have any more information but that it takes c. 12 days on the ocean to get to port. So he figured 2-3 weeks still till pick up (for me). Just passing along the info. as I go.
I may have to rearange some vacation time, I have one July 3-6 and hope to have it before the 12th because I'll be out of town for a week!
I haven't even asked about the dealerships 4th of July schedule yet....

MINImalistnam who is your MA? Stephanie is mine and she isn't calling me back about what ship my car is on. I am 99% sure it's on the Sierra Nevada, but...no confirmation. She must be busy. Maybe I'll try asking sammar or whatever his name is.
