Our group is growing! Anyone else have their VIN or a firm production date yet? I'm going to call ASKMINI tomorrow, since the automated system is still saying "no confirmed production date."

hfs3, I expect you've make kbleicher very happy since he was convinced that everyone else was getting their MINI right away!

 

Well, I don't wish anyone a delay, but I was wondering ;-). I'm going to call Mini as well... Expect they'll have a date.... crossing fingers!

 

Hmph.. Just phoned Mini. Just telling me week 22. No date, VIN, etc. yet... Guess I'm being too impatient.. Just can't wait to get some info

 

JUST got off the phone with Ask MINI and was told my Clubman started production yesterday! Guess I am week 21 after all...

 

My husband called Ask MINI today and was told that we are now "Week 23"... What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is that about?! They told us Week 22 earlier. Rats. I guess I have to get into the W23 Support Group now; <sigh>

 

Don't give up hope yet! Of course, I called today and didn't get any new info. The rep (Adam) offered that production might start as soon as Saturday of this week, so I should call back then. I really hope I don't get kicked back a week; my current car ('96 Maxima with a blown front strut) might not make it!

 

Woo hoo! Just called Mini, and my production started TODAY. The estimated completion is the 29th, but it may be sooner since it got an early start (does this mean I'm week 21, or is the week based upon completion?).

They also gave me my VIN, and encouraged me to call daily for updates.

All right. I have to admit reading these last two posts overcame my resistance to call ASK MINI. But I'm glad I did! Just found out I am IN PRODUCTION with estimated finish date of May 27th. Last week I wasn't even supposed to begin prod till the 25th. This is why that number is addictive, you never know what you are going to find out. So does that make me production week 21? I guess I need to work on a sig now!

 

Looks like I should be in this group (according to my MA). My dealer must get a large allotment. I ordered on 5/16. Not sure how you April guys can stand it. My wife is already making fun of me. I finally order one after waiting 5 years. Had to opt for the Clubman. I'm 6'2" and would like to still hall my three boys with me at times. Clubman BRG/B/B with multifuction steering. Had to get the steering wheel (the stereo controls are horrible).

 

Well, I joined gotmoxie in the "not sure what the h*ll is going on" group. I called today and was told by ASK-MINI that I am in week 22 or 23. I've decided there is nothing I can do about it, and I hope my car lasts until then. I plan to stay with this group (being the founder ) until and unless I have to join those week 23 folks.

I got my at East Bay Mini (Pleasanton, CA). I got the non-S with the normal black stripes. I really wanted the white top, but it wasn't an option when I switched to the Clubman. I realized the Cooper wasn't going to work when the driver seat was touching the back seat.

This will be my daily commuter. My wife will take the Civic when she can, and the suburban will sit as much as possible (not fun paying to fill a 40 gallon tank).

 

Weird. When I call Mini they only tell me it's in production. Others post details like "it is being painted", etc. Are they calling their MA?

I was wondering that too. I called last week and the automated line told me "in production finished by May 27th" I called today and spoke to a live rep and he said in "pre-production" which is when they assemble the sub assemblies, engine drivetrain. The production is when they put it all together. And that they weren't going to start "production" until May 27th now?!?! Went to work, came home, checked ol.mini and I have been moved from "on order" to "in production" and I have a VIN number.... I have never called the MA since a walked out of the dealership so I can't answer you, but I was told above info today...

 

The ASK-MINI automated portion just tells me scheduled with no date. I talked to a rep this morning and was told week 22 (next week). So it looks like I'm still in the correct forum (for now). It feels like waiting for Christmas as a kids.

 

Checked Owners Lounge and it shows "In Production" and my VIN for the first time.

When I called Mini they gave me all of that on the 20th so it looks to be a 2 day lag with Owners Lounge. At least it's a confirmation as others have said, however.

Wondering about getting a personalized plate. Hmmm...

 

Just got off the phone with ASK-MINI, and I'm in production as of yesterday. Got a VIN, which makes it more real... Guess I'll have to join you over in the Week 21 group . OL still shows "On Order."

 

Seems like most the people in week 22 are either moving forward a week or back a week. It's gonna get lonely here.

 

Great googly moogly - my husband called Ask MINI today and they told him that my MINI Clubman is already being built as of this morning and should be finished next Wednesday. For crying out loud; I don't know what to think now! The owner's lounge still shows mine as being "On Order", so either that hasn't caught up yet, or I'll be back here tomorrow telling you I'm "Week 25" or something. Nonetheless, we are tentatively joyful right now!

 

Looks like you and I got the same weird information! Our MINIs seem to be marching down the line together; what port is your headed toward (I'm going to NYC)?

 

Haha. I am picturing a room full of ASK MINI employees saying "hmm, what week should I tell the next person dying to get information on a car that won't be ready for another month....or what their car is doing today"... maybe they don't get paid very well and this is part of their compensation?!? I'm right there with you gotmoxie. First I was week 22, then already in production, then not till next week. So, I'm week 22 even if it shows up at my dealer tomorrow.... hey wait, I gotta go call ASK MINI!!!

 

I've already done my morning and evening call today (I gotta get a hobby), but at least I just settled for the automated reply. Maybe tomorrow I'll talk to someone again. "You car shows scheduled for production with no confirmed production date..." Guess week 22 really starts next week anyway. I'm getting mocked by my co-workers now.

 

I told myself I wouldn't call today but did anyway (pathetic) The automated system said "Your vehicle is in production with a scheduled completion date of May 30." I spoke to a real person who confirmed it and gave me my VIN. The OL has actually updated to show the same thing, so I guess I can believe it now.

Call again tomorrow. You may be surprised.

 

Yeah, the automated response is "in production, with estimated completion on May 27th... so I'm with you, week 22 starts next week and I think they can knock these little babies out in about 5 days it seems...

 

Maybe they have one of those magic-eight-ball toys - they pass it around the room and when someone calls they look at the bottom to see if it says;
● Reply hazy, try again
● Signs point to yes
● Outlook not so good
● Concentrate and ask again ...

Goatdog & I may need to start a "Week Question Mark and the Mysterians" thread. I don't know what port yet - I'll have to find that out next; I'm in Cincinnati, Ohio - I don't know if the end destination has any bearing on what port they ship to.
