Well, just to bump the thread...

Here's the link to the Charleston Terminal.. Shows the date, dock, etc. for the Caribbean Highway (K-Line that I'm on):

http://www.scspa.com/vessel_schedule.asp

Union Pier Terminal

OL showed that I'm shipping for the first time today.. I actually left on the 31st...

In keeping with my Google Maps theme, I *may* have found the Mini's at the port in Charleston, SC....

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...04538&t=h&z=18

Oddly you can't zoom in as much as the UK, so it's a wild guess. It's the Union Pier Terminal though, so it could be....

Link to the Charleston Port:

http://www.port-of-charleston.com/ch...onterminal.asp

Also! I thought I got lucky and found a way to track the Caribbean Highway, but the data is week old:

http://aprs.fi/info/352218000

The regular ship tracking site doesn't have data either. Alas:

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...html?call=H9ZW

Cool- I tried to find the VDC at Port Newark, NJ, but there was just too much clutter.
Ideally, my MINI is being returned to dry land as I type this- info pulled from the Port Authority website.

Our ship doesn't get in until 6/25. One of the few times I've ever wished I lived on the East Coast.

Yes, indeed! My Clubman is on the same boat. Funny how the sailwx site stopped tracking it as of 12:00 hours yesterday. I've been invited to a local meet next Saturday, and hope to have it in time to make an appearance!

Thought I'd give this thread a bump. What is the first long trip everyone has planned for their new Mini. I plan on starting off from the dealer by taking the old road over the pass to get back home. Why take the main highway with everyone else. I've also started to read the owner's manual for my clubman. Someone posted the pdf.

[quote=gotmoxie;2229436]If one more co-worker stops by my office and asks me; "so, did you get your MINI yet?", I'm going to have plead justifiable homicide.

Hahaha! I know what you mean. I have just this one coworker who asks me every single time we work together if my MINI's already out in the parking lot. I think "No, it won't be here 'til July 18th" didn't and woudn't register in his cerebrum.

-And we work together 3-4 days a week!

I think he's more excited than I am.

Oh, btw. I don't really know what week I fall on. I just happened to read that post and found it funny.

I will call ASK-MINI tomorrow and find out. Though the automated voice told me today that the production is completed and is awaiting transport to the carrier.

I have a couple co-workers giving me a hard time as well. A lot of it is because I'm a used car kind of guy. The Mini is also a little above my normal "cool" level.

Well goatdog, it appears our MINIs are off the boat and should be headed to the VDC. My Clubman was discharged at 4:43pm on 6/7, and the Independence II has left NY - next stop Baltimore!

I started to read the manual too. Owners Link sent me one per the thread recommendation, but I think it's the same already on the site. If not I'll post it.

I have a work trip planned, right when I'm supposed to take delivery . If it comes in beforehand I plan to take side-roads up to a friend's house and take a drive with him since he went on the test drives. If it comes in after I get back I'm going to drive it on backroads to a friend's outdoor western cookout party from the dealer and show it off. Fun and back roads either way!

Yes indeed! A final cleaning and buffing, then a short truck ride to our dealers I'm out of town until Friday but hope to pick it up the day I get home

Wow - It's hard to believe that the MINIs belonging to some of the folks I've been waiting with are so close to their homes! Congratulations, Goatdog! I believe that mine may be on-board the Patriot bound for Charleston judging by the timing and the information from Ask MINI, but in the MINI Lounge, I am listed as "Awaiting Transport" and my VIN entered into the Auto Cargo area of the ship tracking yields nothing, so I honestly can't substantiate that.

Meanwhile, I'm still receiving the " ...don't you have that car yet?..." comments and now added to that a couple of people have asked me why I didn't just buy a car that I could get right off the lot...

I guess you "get it" or you don't!!

You're out of town when your MINI it available for delivery?!? I thought being on vacation without easy internet access during the week my MINI was being built and put on a ship was tough. I feel your pain...

You East Coasters with the short transit time. 20 days to get to the West Coast. Mine just passed through the Azores. Hopefully I'll get it the first of July. (actually the 2nd since I'll be out of state on the first).

Caribbean Highway on the MAP!

Data
http://aprs.fi/info/352218000

Map
http://aprs.fi/?call=352218000

Looks like it left Baltimore. Confusing, however, as it says the Charleston ETA is also today. Doesn't seem right.

Yes, truly painful. I'm at a conference in CA where there are lots of twisty roads, making me want my MINI even more When do you take delivery?

kbleicher-YOU are killing me. I was happy thinking "ok no more tracking the mini" Now I can see the darn boat in the bay headed my way and it updates itself!!! This is worse than calling ASK MINI three times a day!

Good work finding that site! Closer by the minute.

Don't worry, you'll STILL beat me! After we unload together in CA, Wellington has to make the trip 1000 miles back to Denver!

We are all doing better than the WA clubman buyers. They have a waiting list to get officially ordered from Mini. Yuck.

Ha! And of course the first thing I do when I get to a computer is log in to see where it is! Eeek!
