Week 25 anyone?

What I don't understand, seems like I have been in the same time line with everybody else (completed on the 17th) but my 'en route' has shown since Saturday. I am thinking ours may get into port around July 3...at least I am hoping! And I am watching the weather channel for the tropic updates...

I received the same message from John too, "still on the dock". However, after reading some of the discussions here (thanks Merlin!) my husband called Nashville yesterday. He just could not believe that our Mini missed all three vessels. Well, Richey checked on our Mini - and sure enough, I am on the Caribbean Highway.
Moreover, I looked on my Owner's Lounge this afternoon and today it shows that I am en route.
Although they all seem very ncie, getting the wrong information from my MA is difficult to understand.
So yes, although it might be most unfortunate that your Mini might still be on the dock - I think it is a much better possibility that you've made it aboard with the rest of us. Just a thought...

Hi Week 25er's
Here is what I just got from my MA. No details (boat name etc.) but I have a call back into him to get those. Looks like its on one of the K-line ships.

Hi David,
Your MINI is currently in transit to South Carolina and should arrive there on July 8th. It takes roughly 7-10 days to trasport it here at the dealer. I am expecting a delivery day of roughly July 15th. I will keep you updated on its progress.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,
Alex Drabant

My MA is also Alex Drabant (San Antonio). I got the same information from him. My car should be here on July 15th.

Finally
Our status finally changed to "en route" also. Still can't find it on the WW site but our MA said it should be at Charleston by July 8.
Just found out we are on K-Line, Carribbean Highway, Voyage #70B

If you are coming into Charleston on the 8th, then you are on Caribbean Highway, which is K-line - untraceable. I wish they were more like WW!

It's all starting to set in...
Went and got insurance quoted today and all I've got to do now is tell them the day I pick it up. Also stopped by the credit union and starting to dig through all the different options I'll need to consider. Gap insurance is a must in my mind, but I'm pondering life coverage, and perhaps warranty coverage through either the bank or my dealer (dealer wants 450$ more for what amounts to the same coverage).
Oh well, time to take the rest of the day off and go buy fireworks!

ok ok... It's Independence Day weekend. Time to clear the head.... temporarily call a halt to the obsession so I can enjoy my holiday without thinking about where and when and what about the Mini.
Deep breath...... calm..... deep..... clear the mind.
Let's celebrate our country tomorrow and the weekend and give our families a break from the Mini obsession....!

My bank conveniently forgot to tell me that their 7.95 rate was only if I went with 60 months. So I'm probably going 72 months at 9.2, but here's the kicker... I ran some amortization schedules and the I save about 60$ each month by going 72 months over the 60 month rate. So over those 60 months I keep about 3600$ in my pocket (which will actually be helpful in paying the yearly property tax here). And the total interest difference over the cost of the loan is only 3000$ between the 60 month and 72 month rates.
So I could be totally missing something, but other than the inconvenience of having to pay an additional year (which I'm covering the MINI with a higher comprehensive rate, gap insurance, life insurance, and a 72/100K warranty with no deductible), I think it actually works out in my favor to go the full 72 months, and just look at them adjusting the rate next year when my credit is a little bit better.
Ok, that was probably way too much info for everyone, but if anyone sees where I'm overlooking something major, feel free to let me know.
