Maybe I missed this, but what VDC do you go to? I didn't realize that there was another one in the southeast.

I don't know how things worked with your credit unions but I applied with Pen Fed and provided them with the VIN number and my dealership name and 3 days later I had a cheque in the mail for the full amount. Simple, why do things seem more complicated with your credit unions?

 

I just heard from my MA... according to the "system," my MINI hasn't gotten off the boat yet. Hmmm....

I'm hoping it is arriving at the VDC today and that tomorrow the "system" will be updated.

 

I'm not placing the blame on Richey at Nashville. Their finance guy (or whatever you call the guy that handles the deals with the credit unions) is the guy that sat on this all day. I finally received a fax of the buyer's order at my work. I'm assuming they faxed me one, and faxed the CU one. I'm going to call to verify tomorrow.

The buyer's order they faxed me didn't have the taxes rolled into the loan though -- not sure if it should reflect that or not. If so, then I'm going to have to fight this tomorrow as well.

 

So I've already preordered a few gifts for my new MINI... an Escort 9500ix Radar/Laser detector (blue LED panel) and a set of blue LEDs for the interior... And now tonight I thought "Hey... how about a bike to bring on trips?" but I've got PDC so I don't know how sport link would work, so I started looking at folding bikes.

Is it bad that I'm considering paying 200$ more for a bike that should closely match my MINI's color?

My CU to the rescue! They are drawing up all the papers based on the buyer's order and will fedex everything for me to sign along with the check to me tommorrow.

My MA said there is still a chance that my car will show up on a truck today or tommorrow as Nashville isn't that far from Greenville VDC. He says it's listed as released to carrier from the VDC.

Hopefully they get my loan stuff done today and fedexed over today so that I can pick it up on Saturday in the event that it's ready by then.

 

Holy crap. Calling my MA now!

Edit: Nevermind. Just crap. Hasn't been released to carrier yet, and so he's going to keep an eye on it, but he's given me a tentative Monday delivery at 4PM. But I could probably go look at it before then I'm thinking. We'll see...

 

My MA got an instant email with that news. I've only ever caught him on the phone once, but he is very good about answering emails.

Most VDCs are at the port of entry. SC is an oddity because they go to Spartanburg since the BMW plant is there (which sucks for customers who purchased from MINI of Charleston, because their MINI goes from the port a few miles away to across the state to back to Charleston ). For the Spartanburg VDC, the MINIs go by train from the port to the VDC and then by truck from the VDC to their dealer.

just got this e-mail from my MA:

The latest and greatest is that the car is headed to the processing center. It is scheduled to be at the dealership on the 13th so I should have her ready by the 15th or so. What day/time around there do you have open?

...can't....breath...too...excited....chest....pai ns.....

 

You guys suck.

Our cars are moving into the Gulf of Mexico for a stop in Galveston before hitting the Panama Canal on the 15th. We won't see our cars until the end of July at the soonest.

Oh well, at least we have better weather than you guys.......

MA is expecting it to be at the dealer by tomorrow, but probably not in time for them to prep and have it ready, since they usually get the truck at around the end of the day, and they don't do prep on the weekends. I might go up to Greenville tonight though. Just for the hell of it. And if I happen to catch a truck showing up... heh.
