Week 25 anyone?

I've been on the fence about it. I've never thought protective covers on anything necessary. Frankly, I didn't know "clear" bras existed until I started lurking around here.
I like the idea of having pristine paint, but I don't think I've ever seen a chip on any of my cars. I'm also not an OCD detailer, either.
I'm leaning towards not. I'll definitely be putting Huper Optik ceramic 30% tint on the windows and sunroof, though.

Still on the fence. I've seen pictures where there is no way to really tell it's there unless you're up on it, so that makes me lean towards it, but then I also don't like seeing the line when I'm up close on it. So I've leaned away from it.

I'm still undecided about the clear bra as I am having the bonnet stripes put on at the factory and I read it's not good to have the clear bra over the stripes so won't bother with that. I also looked at the 98 Honda Civic I'm driving and there are no chips in the paint so maybe I'm good.
I will probably end up on a boat with some of you guys...I was week 24 but managed to miss the boat on the 13th so will probably be on the one on the 21st.

They said my MINI started production on the 12th, will finish on the 21st. Then there's the 2 days they didn't work because they shut down.
Which boat do you think my Mini will be on?
Also, what's the deal with the paint shop? What's that all about. Is it some major step that better defines the date it will be completed?

My wife's Audi has the Huper 30%. We did it to reject heat... love it! Frankly, I'm not sure how I ended up with the 30%. We just told the Audi dealer, "Get us ceramic tint." I pulled out the invoice for the tint and it had listed the type of tint and the installer.
I called the installer yesterday to get a quote for the MINI and they gave me $539 out the door including the sunroof (would have been $140 less if I didn't do the sunroof, but that would defeat the purpose of heat reduction).
He told me that 30% is the darkest they make, and I don't think it's that dark. It looks great on my wifes gray Audi and I saw a picture in the gallery here of a guy with a Laser Blue (like mine) with Huper 30% and it didn't look too dark at all. I'm like you, I don't want too dark nor too light--just "standard".
You might call your MA and ask where they have their tint done and if ceramic is an option. Mine shrugged off ceramic and quoted me $400 for standard tint.
I've basically decided against the clearbra. I've never had it and while I'm sure micro dings and nicks happen, I've never been particularly concerned about them. If something gets bad enough, I'll have it touched up. It's a large expense that I'd rather not spend and I have concerns about how it ages. I do expect a few windshield issues. The MINI windshield seems to attract rocks.

150 Production Started
151 Body Shop Started
152 Paint Shop Started
153 Assembly Started
155 Production Completed
So basically that's why you get the paint shop message.

Anyways, mine just hit the body shop yesterday morning. Anyone have a time estimate from the body shop to completion to verify the completion date, see if my theory is correct?

It seems to take awhile to get TO the body shop once you actually start production, but at the end, it appears to happen rather quickly.
I entered the body shop yesterday. This morning I'm getting a nice Laser Blue paint job, and according to the completion date of tomorrow, I'm getting all my goodies installed tomorrow.

If I'm reading the schedules right, WW has the Courage leaving June 22, arriving July 5 and the Integrity leaving June 28, arriving July 12. K-Line has Emden leaving June 24, arriving July 5, the Caribbean Highway leaving June 25, arriving July 8, and Sierra Nevada Highway leaving July 4, arriving July 17.
I say add a couple days to actual completion date, and the next one is the one you'll be on. Since I'm supposed to be done Monday (23rd), I expect I will be on the Integrity. Doesn't matter too much to me, as I'm out of town July 8-16.
