Ah today will be a good day!

 

I just checked the Owners' Lounge, and our status has updated since yesterday. It now shows "At Distribution Center" but the big change is that it shows, "Estimated Delivery Date: 7/1/2008."

If that's true, it would be awesome, since the dealer is estimating July 12!

 

My MA just called and said that my MCS is in the dealership!!!! Its been a really long 6 weeks and the day is finally here. Im off to the dealership right after work and can't wait to get my new toy!

 

My MINI isn't in yet today, so we won't be having a June delivery. It might be on the truck that arrives later today, but they won't have time to prep it. oh well. I knew my MA was being optimistic when he said we'd have it today or yesterday, but it still got my hopes up :(

Hopefully it will be on the truck today and we can pick it up this week.

 

No call yet but was told that I would be picking up today. Hurry up Cliff at Brecht MINI.

 

YAY!!! So yesterday I thought that the earliest I could pickup due to the Holiday and Sunday Service is closed would be next Tuesday (7 days away).

But much to my suprise my MA emailed me this morning!!!!

"Your MINI is here already! It just got off the truck. I just talked with the service department for scheduling; how does Thursday afternoon work for you?"

YAY!!! Obviously I told him tell me a time and I'm there - who cares about work, this is important!!!! The best thing is I have a 4 day weekend for lots of motoring!!! (I always have Monday's off)

Ah man! you're in Seattle and already got yours?!?!? Mine better show up on the truck today, I'm just in the Bay Area! I'm getting extra jealous now!! :(

 

I am thinking my theory worked...

My car was on a waiting list to board the ship and I was worried that it missed the ship, but it didn't. So if I was one of the last ones on the ship, that would mean I was one of the first off...

Who knows! I had to think of something! lol

 

Drove by the dealership today on the way back from the gym. Mines there too! So excited, I wonder how long it takes to get prepped

 

I think just a couple of hours. I was supposed to get my sports stripes done at the dealer but my MA said if they do it I won't get the car today. I was just too excited I told him that I will just reschedule for the install of the stripes next weekend!! I just cant' wait anymore . Two more hours to go and Im off to South Bay Mini!!!

Well if mine arrived today and pick up is Thursday, that's only 3.5 days... If your not having anything installed it is a lot faster! (They have to send my car down the street for tint and then come back and install my sport stripes) But if service is booked then you have to wait for an opening... Which I what I think is happening in my case since there is only one dealer in my state.

 

I was tempted to do that too, but decided to wait! (Heck whats 3 more days when I have been doing this waiting thing for a MONTH! -- from completion date, not from order date!)

 

I pick it up tomorrow!

I only saw a red Clubman with a silver roof. Mine was the next to go into the building for prep so chances are, yours has already been prepped

got a call from my MA, my car still has not arrived , what gives?

Woo hOo!! MA just called, car was on the truck that came in today, and I can pick it up tonight! Leaving in about an hour to go get it!

One small problem... my down payment hasn't transferred into my checking account yet, so I'm a bit short on what I wanted to put down... maybe they'll let me put some on a credit card as my transfer will complete by tomorrow.. ugh.

 

well we came in on the same ship, so the dealer should have received the cars on the same truckload (at least you would think).

 

I thought id be one of the last ones off the ship because I was one of the first on...I missed the first ship...hmm you never know. I'll prob be there tomorrow

 

Hmmm... 1150 miles to Seattle (already arrived)... 1074 miles to Denver, OL says arrival tomorrow... so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Then I'll just have to work on getting the dealer to reduce their "7 days to prep" down to something more reasonable!

 

I dont understand why they have such a long prep!
