My 09 JCW is on the W Highway. It gets the JCW aero kit installed at the port before it comes to me in Dallas!
Hate to be the possible bearer of bad news, but have you confirmed with your MA that they will DELIVER the car to you prior to July 16? Others on the forum have been told that they car wil l sit on the dealer lot until the "official release date" of the car.

He told me that when it comes in he will call me so that I can go look at it! ALMOST THERE!
Its a beautiful day. The sun is shining, birds are trying to have sex with bees, and the western highway is docked. According to the port of charleston website, she arrived at 2:45 this morning and they began unloading at 7:00. In the words of icet. "today was a good day"

True statement. My JCDub is also on the Western Highway (maybe by now he is on dry ground) but either way, Monday July 14th is the date that the 2009's hit the streets. The cars will sit at the VDC until the 7th and after that, they will be shipped to dealers. The release is identical to the Clubman release in February. The dealers got the cars a week out and put the on the showroom floor the night before! The good news is that we have a firm date to look forward to and there will not be any suprises. BTW, anyone want to buyh a Tahoe!

Haven't confirmed it with the MA but I wouldn't be surprised if the car sits until the official release date. I hadn't really considered getting it earlier than the 14th, which I thought was the quoted date for the JCWs.

Glad for you then...I just envisionsed you being all excited about getting it next week, when in fact it would be an additional 1-2 week wait! That would put ME over the edge!
Hope you get it early. That would really drive me nuts, but I saw this once before on a Porsche delivery. 100's at port, would not even ship to dealer until 'official' release date.
I'm on the Western as well, and hopeful that 'Astro' gets on the train to Greer SC training center so I can be behind the wheel in about 10 days.
Eric how did you find out that you were on the Western Highway for sure? My mini Has the same born on date as yours and I can not get anyone to tell me where it is.
My MA says that they do not receive shipping information. He said he knew what day it arrived at port and he will know the day it arrives at the VDC. He said he would call me as soon as it reaches the states.
Thats true in that they don't track the progress of the vessel, but they should/can tell you what ship you are on. My MA gave me my ships name, arrival date and call sign. It sounds like you have a sub-par MA.
Just called him again and he said he could not find the name of the ship. He just said he would call me when it comes in. I hope that it was on the WH. I ordered the same day as you, and it was born on the same day...but when it comes to logistics their are so many variables that the previous similarities may mean nothing.

I had to talk to the Sales Manager as my MA was not finding it either...and on the 19th, he quickly told me I was on the WH. Your MA leaves a LOT to be desired!
I'll move to Charleston, go down to the docks and take pictures of the mini's being unloaded... Then run home and sell em to the waiting people on NAM!
This is killing me ... I will get Ollie either the 3rd or the 5th, depending on whether the truck driver goes home for the 4th? <grumbling .. stupid founding fathers and their stupid declarations>
Come on Rubber Duck, I need you. Saddle up that big black Mack and roll that truckin' convoy across the USA.....

I hate to be the one to reality check you here.... But if you had the opportunity to take the day off, see your family, drink some beer, eat some BBQ and explode small ordinance would you really choose to be driving your rig? I'm not trying to bring negative karma here, I'm just sayin...
