Hello all. planning to get a mini. question?

Hello,

Well as the title stated, I'm thinking about selling my car for a mini. My current car is a 03 WRX with a JDM sti ej207 engine swap. I have some minor suspension work, but nothing to drastic. There are (2) reasons why i want to sell my car; first off, I'm looking for a smaller car (moving to sf). Second i want a more gas efficient car. Also, i've always admired the mini.

any how. If anyone can tell me the difference between a MCS and MC john cooper works version (factory JCW), other than facts listed on the website. The JCW version is marked 7k higher, is it worth the extra? I guess i just wanted to know if the engines and drivetrains are different?

I don't know if this pertains to anything but this car will be my daily driver and will probably only see 2 track days a year, of course not to mention some spirited driving from time to time.

Thanks for your time. Any suggestions will help. look forward to joining this forum.

Jayson

happy motoring

Welcome to NAM. About all I know about the difference between the R56 & JCW is that the engine & drivetrain are not different. The performance increases are due to other components. Suspension is different. Anymore than that should come from people who know more than me. Whatever Mini you get, you will enjoy it.

If you're planning to make it your daily ride, with weekend fun and two track runs per year, perhaps the MCS would be suitable. But best way to determine that would be to test drive both.

Welcome to NAM, a cool place to hang out.
