ALL ABORD FIDELIO LEAVING SOUTH HAMPTON JULY 8th
#26
Thanks for info W8EEY. I thought it was just me and I had the wrong sight for tracking. I think the ship will be able to avoid Bertha with no problems!
Roscoe...too bad you will be away. That would be great if I can pick up by 7-24. Then I will not have to get a rental car. I don't know Steve. I have been dealing with Jerry and Brian and they have both been great!
Hope your transaction is smooth also!

No Position Update as of 1836 EDT 7-11-2008
I just checked and there is no new position update posted at sailwx.info.
In case you want to check yourself, the link is:
http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...html?call=SLKR
I'll keep posting updates when I see them and certainly don't mind if someone else wants to do the same if I am late in catching one.
Fair skies and steady seas Fidelio!
Gary

Fidelio - Updated position 7-13-2008 0600
Up early today as I couldn't sleep (thinking about getting rid of my old car to make room for the new Mini - memories...). I'll probably be selling my 2000 Chevy Malibu to CarMax (got my estimate from them yesterday) and be done with it.
Anyway, the new position has been posted and I now realize what I suspected might be the case - the time of the position is UTC and not EDT (six hours ahead of EDT) - but it was taking some time for the track to be updated and I wasn't 100% sure as they were appearing online at about when the EDT times would have been. But as it is now 0440 EDT and the 0600 position has been posted I'm sure they're UTC (Duh!).

Beth,
The Sailwx.info site was completely dead when I first checked (after the Fidelio had left port). When it came up the next day it had the position.
I see that the site has old information from July 2nd for the Patriot. If I see anything new I'll let you know.
I was sorry to hear that you missed the Fidelio but glad to know that the Patriot is underway.
Regards,
Gary

Hi MiniO,
I take the image from the Sailwx.info website via a screen grab (Print Screen) and paste it into Windows Paint. Then I crop it to size and save it as a JPG file. I established a free account at PhotoBucket.com and upload the image to there. PhotoBucket gives you a direct link to the image that you can use when composing the message to this thread.
I have Windows XP at home but here at work we still have Windows 2000. The Paint application is different in 2000 (not as full featured) so the most recent image is improperly sized. I'll try to fix that in future or just post from home.
If anyone else wants to post these updates feel free as I am limited on time and tools here during the day!
Regards,
Gary

Halifax Port Webcam link
I was reading an earlier thread that tracked the Fidelio from Southampton via Halifax (look below this thread in the related links section) and found this most interesting link:
http://www.halifaxwebcam.ca/live/ind...1&SET_CAM=cam1
For those who wish you may be able to view the Fidelio as it moves into the Halifax harbor for its first port of call.
Note that the picture is all grey at the moment but I'm thinking that this is actually FOG!
Please report if you see the ship.
