Hope everyone is doing ok!
That shouldn't happen It almost sounds like a piston seized in a caliper until you applied enough pressure to free it.

brakes

Hmm. Sounds like I better get it checked out. I can live with a squeak or two, but when it comes to brakes, better safe than sorry. Looks like I'll be making an apptmt with the dealer Monday morning! I'll let y'all know the outcome. Might as well get an early oil change and tire rotation while I'm at it!

Hey Week 32ers. This Sunday is the St. Louis European Auto Show. I'll be showing my JCW. Four years ago I won a 2nd place trophy for the BMW marque with my E46 M3. Maybe I can get another one for my MINI. Maybe not, we'll see.

Anyway, I swapped out my chrome gas cap for a white painted one to go with my CR/W theme. It looks very distinctive, but really good. I've also ordered the JCW side scuttles. They will be here by Friday. Meanwhile, the paint shop is painting the scuttle carriers white for me. Can't wait to see how it all comes out. I'll post a picture when I have it installed.

Got my new JCW scuttles installed today, with the carriers custom painted white to match my CR/W MINI. The gascap is also painted white.

Everyone - We picked-up our new MCS Convertible on Friday afternoon. While at the dealer we ran into RaceTripper - very nice wheels/tires!!!

As of this morning, the Openometer shows top open for 3 hours 10 minutes. She's got 154 miles on her. I'm not sure what week we were for production (14 or 15 maybe), but she took 6 weeks from order to delivery and the support was nothing like "The 2008 Motoring 32'ers"....

Here are a couple of attached photos, but see my gallery for the good high-res pics.
Very nice!!

I also chunked by front right Advan Neova the previous weekend. Waiting on Yokohama to see what happens next. They said they would replace it but haven't acted on it yet.

Was it an obstruction or tire manufacturing defect?

It's gotta be a defect. I've never had a problems with tires before, and I took care of them in terms of checking pressure and temps. I ran 7 20-30 min. sessions over the course of two days. It was only after the last session that I noticed the chunking.

Technically, Yoko doesn't warranty track use, but they say they want to send them back for tech analysis, so they plan to replace the set. But I am waiting on some direction about this moving forward.

Does anyone else find their ankle gets sore after a long drive? I've noticed it ever since I got the car. I'm not sure if it's my seating position or because the throttle pivots from the bottom rather than the top.

No, but I also use cruise control for long drives.

Hmmm...I tried to think back, but the only car I've had that didn't pivot from the floor is my 96 T-bird....I haven't had many cars. I've had my foot get tired, but after reflection, it may have been an improper shoe ...... for me a loose shoe is the worst. I try not to drive with boots anymore because they seem to be the worst for me.

ON longer road trips I wear driving mocs. Currently my favorite are Pikolinos. I got some for half price at a Walking Co. outlet in Fort Collins. Otherwise, they are not cheap. But they are comfortable as hell.

I usually drive barefoot whenever possible. I think my ankle gets sore from like holding it from pressing down on the gas. If I relax my ankle my foot mashes the pedal. Hmm..

Yeah, but I only use it on long highway drives. Anyone else get the ankle thing I'm talking about?

That's right! Thanks for remembering sikamini! Phantom was "born" on August 7, 2008. His birthday is Friday. I'll have to do something to celebrate... ideas?

And just a month away from his first trip to the dealer for service.

A nice bath and a present! I'm thinking of a dust cover myself for Hilla, her birthday is today!
