I think my car is one of the last 2008 ordered. Even though i ordered on 7/9/2008, production does not start until WEEK 32
Here is what I ordered
2008 MCS
Astro Black
Rooster Red leather/cloth
Rooster Red Accent trim
JCW Aero kit
Piano Black Int Surface
LSD, DSC, Xenon, White turn signal, Rear Fog Lights
Convenient Pck
Cold Weather Pck

Mod to order: Stubby antenna, CROSS Coilover, 17 or 18 wheels (havent decided) But need to ditch the runflats.

This is gonna be a long wait. My 04 E46 M3 didnt even take this long even though I ordered it.

I'm here with you on week 32 build.

'09 JCW Clubman
Sparkling Silver/Silver Roof and "C" pillars (Yes, I know weird paint combo)
Multifunction Steering wheel
Hi-Fi Speakers
Cloth seats
That's all.

I'll add more performance items after I get the car.
That is, if someone makes any go-fast items to put on a new JCW car.
I ordered the car from Long Beach Mini (Calif)
at msrp. All the local San Francisco area Mini dealers, where I live,
are charging $2000-2500 added to the sticker price.
Isn't that nice!

My dealer adds $500 to MSRP but they waived it for me because I've been a BMW customer with them ('99 323i, '02 530i, '03 330ci, '05 M3). They are also throwing in the checkered matts.

I've got my Clear Bra install priced and lined up. Will also be doing 35% tint. I'm hoping my year end bonus can fund the JCW Suspension.

During week 32 at the Oxford mini Factory
I hope the Minis' are built:

-By factory veteran (no trainees) assembly persons in white coats.
-Everything hand assembled and torqued.
-They pick the best parts to assemble our cars.
-Engines hand built blueprinted and dynoed choosing the ones with the highest horsepower.
-A few extra coats of paint to have a nice deep shine.
-With a few extra options not listed on the build sheet, for free!
-A case of the finest English Lager.
-With a note written on the dash: "This Mini build with English pride in
England especially for JIMJ" signed "The Queen"

Maybe they're retooling for the 2009 model year?

Probably right. I heard that they do not close the factory, but the end of July has traditionally been for factory maintenance and so on. I know they were already producing 2009s, but it seems they will still produce 2008s also in August. I don't know how that works, you would think there would be confusion in the assembly lines.

Nice race pics!

Once you have a production number, your MA should be able to tell you. There is a good thread here on "How to Track your MINI." PM me if you don't find it.

I'm week 32 for my 2008 MC. I've learned that the 2009's (MC/MCS) start production in week 35.

Anyone else with a non JCW wondering if they should switch to 2009?

I drove down to Portland, OR this weekend and placed my order with Jarid at Rasmussen Mini. I cannot say enough about the service and ease. Jarid took my girlfriend and I through their entire inventory (cars that people were waiting to pick up) and show us as many options that I wanted to add to my car and some that I had questions about. I highly recommend anyone in the Pacific Northwest to head down there when considering a Mini purchase.

Here it goes:

2008 MCS
DS/W (Red Mirror Caps, Jarid said they could get it done!)
White Turn Signals
Rear Fog Lamps
Sport Package (17" Web Spoke Wheels)
Premium Package
Xenons
LSD
Center Arm Rest
Anthracite Headliner
MFSW
Rooster Red Color Line
Bluetooth/IPOD (Only thing I was on the fence about, but WA State just passed the "No Cell Phone" Law so this option is worth it)
JCW Aero Kit (Arches NOT painted, and they gave me a great installation price!)
Sport Stripes (All the way down front/back)

Sweet. Congrats on your order!

BTW, what was your installed price on JCW aero? Mine was $2250 painted and installed. Price does not include the arches. (Which i dont care for)

I just realized that all Week 32 does not start production for another WHOLE MONTH from today... WOW Guys... what do we do!??!?! LOL

No worries, it's only 19 days to week 32. I've been waiting 44 days already for week 32. Then it'll be another 6 weeks (42 days) hopefully less, before it's here. In the mean time we keep posting!

I'm now thinking about changing my color scheme to Chili Red/White (instead of Black) with the white/red center racing stripes. I need to check with my MA how much time I have to change before there's no turning back.

Well, I gave up my week 32 build slot of an MC to switch to a 2009 MCS at a TBD build week (dealer had no more 2008 MCS build slots). Estimated to be mid September build with a mid October delivery. I had ordered the MC on 6/18 but the long wait gave me enough time to talk myself into an MCS. I figured I'd be keeping the car at least 6 years, so after six years I would get back 1000 more of the 2000 more the MCS is costing me, and at about 10000 miles a year figuring 30 mpg on MCS and 35 mpg on MC that the extra gas per year at $5 per gallon only costs about $20 a month. So for the $1000 / 72 months + gas, I was looking at $35 per month max in additional costs = about $1.20 a day = have fun with the MCS.

But when you all post here you got your cars, and I'll still be waiting, I'll be a little sad

Good luck all.

Oh well... I guess the whole point is to get the MINI that suits you best, right? Good luck with your MCS!

So, I think I'm gonna name my MC Ian.
