Well I did it !!

After much thought and deliberation I finally broke down and ordered a Cooper S. I have been driving Subarus for the past 12 years and wanted something that got good gas mileage and was fun to drive. The dealer told me 12 weeks. WOW, this is stucks, oh well

I waited 11 weeks - I feel your pain.

You have no idea how bad it's gonna get, about week 8 or 9...

But it's worth the wait... congrats!

Congrats! Were you able to get a production slot for an 08, or will yours be one of the first 09s? I'm thinking with the 12 week wait it may be an 09, though i'm not really sure how they handle the model year transition.

I just ordered this past Saturday. Pepper white w/black roof; sport package; convenience package; black hood stripes; bi-xenon headlamps and limited slip diff. I want to thank NAM for helping me decide on the Mini. I have been reading all the forums as a guest for awhile now trying to get a feeling how the Mini's are.
I've been in the service end of the auto business for almost 30 years, and currently working in service in a Nissan Dealership (yes, the GT-R is awesome). I looking foward about getting the Mini, but I am coming from a long time with Subaru and AWD, especially the WRX.

12 weeks?!?

Wow, that seems like a long time. Is your mini going to be an 09?? Since your delivery is so far out??

It's supposed to be a 2008. The '09's are not supposed to go into production till Dec.

Nice color choice! Good luck with the wait - I can't imagine waiting 12 weeks! My car was just built and is now waiting to get on the boat, and it's another month from there (west coast). Sigh.

CONGRATULATIONS!! I know what you mean about the 12 week wait. We placed an order Saturday morning for my wife's CR Cooper S and she is already asking when it's going to arrive...

How are the Mini's in the snow? I've had AWD for so long.

Welcome! 12 weeks sounds right - 6 weeks prior to production, 6 weeks after production. That's what mine is. I ordered early June. Anyway, congrats!!

Unless you get a JCW, like I did. Mine was born on 6/21 as a 2009.
