I did it!

I ordered my mini last night after months of research (thanks NAM!). Actually two car accidents in less than two weeks in my old Toyota made me take the plunge sooner than I expected but I'm so happy I did! I sold my Toyota for parts in the am and by 8pm I had my new 2008 MINI S ordered.

Astro Black (roof same color)
manual
leather carbon punch black interior
dark grey interior
brushed alloy interior
alarm
auto-dimming mirror
ipod/bluetooth
premium pkg
and more....

My dealer (Towson, MD) only had a few more 2008 builds left before they started taking 2009 orders. They didn't have the pricing for the 2009 but they expected 2-3% higher than 2008, so I'm glad I ordered when I did.

Also, they required (dealer add-ons) the alarm (which I was going to get anyway) and the JCW brake rotors ($500+) which I didn't want but after my two accidents I guess more braking power is better!

SWEET. Congratulations! Mine will be an '09 build, and I'm not excited about the potential price increase...maybe I can wheel and deal with my MA...?

Congrats! What are you driving in the meantime??? Something i've been thinking about is how cool it would be if MINI gave us a loaner MINI until our orders arrived. I guess that would be a lot of overhead on their part, but wouldn't it be nice

Welcome to the phenomenon! I have never had such a great time waiting for a new car. This is a great place to pass the time -- sounds like you already know that!

Towson is the first place I looked at Minis. Special for me.

Be careful when you get it. Bend the rules, not the car!

in response to the question about what I'm driving now...nothing! I don't need a car for work b/c I take the Metro but needed it for weekends/errands. I just plan to lay low til my MINI gets here.

yay!
