Engender, I am in a similar situation as you. I couldn't pass up the rate from the CU (4.75%). Like you, I hope it doesn't delay anything. My CU said I just needed to bring in the pre-approval letter from the CU, and that is as good as cash to the dealer. The paperwork to get the money from the CU to the dealer is done behind the scenes. We'll see.

But first, thanks WYSIWYG for the CU tutorial!
Okay, now for trivia... When checking AIS for the Independence ll, it shows a rather elderly looking ARC vessel. On vessel tracker (yes, I know the free version has a time delay) I see the Independence ll in Antwerp, but click on it and it shows a completely different ship, and the name is the Independence li. But if you check the IMO number it's the same as the Lloyd's number on the WW schedule! Looks like it was renamed after being sold earlier this year. I think this one is our chariot of the sea.
Keep keeping the faith Herby74, if Mr Ray is right we still have until tomorrow to get booked on the Independence!

It looks like the car didn't get to port until yesterday afternoon local time, so I imagine that was the suspense. I think they are producing a lot of cars right now, so maybe the transport trains were overloaded.

Thanks, Melissa!! The Caribbean Highway is off the north coast of the Isle of Wight and approaching Southampton. Anyone get a confirmed booking aboard her yet? My dealership's manager is the only one who can verify booking for my car, and he's off today; I could find out tomorrow. Here's hoping there's room in her for all the Charleston-bound MINIs who aren't on the Independence II!!!

Oh you lucky INDEPENDENCE II people!! My dear car is still waiting on the dock for the carrier to process her. I will most likely not be on INDY II since WW tracking still does not register my VIN. I am thinking K Line might be the carrier but someone might need to confirm that they DO NOT call at Brunswick, GA which will be my port of entry, 2 days after the Charleston call. Oh well..I guess at this point I have had a good run and might just have to be patient for now.

The Caribbean Highway's departure has been delayed until 20:15 tonight (that's 3:15 EDT, I think); late last night it was still scheduled to leave at 16:00. Hey, all the more time to get those MINIs on board! The Indy II leaves at 23:00. It'll be fun to watch both cross the Atlantic, especially if we have cars on each! Here's the Shipping Movements schedule for Southampton.
The satellite picture on Southampton's aislive page is the very same one that elegantmini posted on Monday -- same ships, same cars in the same positions. (Well, it is from Google Earth.) But it is fun to look at the live positioning and see both ships's green dots at the docks. It refreshes every 60 seconds; once they get underway we can actually watch them move!

Week 36 Bump
Hey everyone,
First let me thank everyone for the warm welcomes. Now for the update... I was scheduled to be a week 36, but obviously I got bumped. The good news is my Mini is now in production with an estimated completion date of Sept 16th. If that holds I hope to take delivery in early to mid Oct.
Could be wishful thinking on my part, but I'm hoping

Just venting my impatience a bit....
I hate to sound whiny, but my car has been sitting on the docks at the port for 8 days now waiting for a boat. I see that other cars which completed build after mine are already steaming their way across the ocean. You'd think that Minis should be polite, well-mannered cars that line up in single file and don't cut in line in front of other Minis that have been waiting longer!
Mine completed build on 9/5; it was scheduled to finish 9/3, so maybe I've just got myself a slow one? I was hoping for delivery in time for nice fall motoring, but at this rate, we'll have snow before it arrives.

If you are going to west coast you should be getting on that ship as well.

My car was completed on the 2nd and it's still sitting on the dock of the bay like Otis Redding.
